Question Installing monoballs in trailing arms

Guys,

How do I remove the stock bushing's metal inserts from the trailing arms? I was able to get the rubber part out, but have bent a few tools in the process of removing the metal inserts. Do you heat the aluminum trailing arms up first?

Thanks
