Question Redline Gear Oil confusion.

Well, after reading quite a few threads without a clear answer, I decided to go with:

2qts Redline MT90
1qt Redline Heavyweight Shockproof.

HOWEVER

What they shipped me instead of the MT90 was two quarts of SAE 75w90 API GL-5+ Hypoid Gear Oil.

I'm guessing this is just all wrong and will not work? On the bottle it says it is not recommended for manual transmissions because it is too slippery.

Thoughts?

Thank you

IMO the only oils you need for your 944 are pictured below. The trans takes MT-90 SAE 75W90 API GL-4 Gear Oil. It seems they sent you the wrong gear oil.

You want a GL4 gear oil, GL5 is bad for your syncros.

Actually, and this surprised me, my local Harley dealer has Redline mt-90. They put it in their transmissions when they are being serviced. Call your local Harley service or parts dept to see they have it.
