Default Request for look over of a 951 in Plymouth ME

Hi guys
So my 928 has been flooded out after driving it cross country last summer

Flood thread

I am now interested in this 951 http://maine.craigslist.org/cto/3082738854.html have been for a long time really since I owned am 86 NA and an 87 S in the past. I have chatted to this guy on the phone and he sounds pretty legit (don’t they all!) and this sounds like a promising car. Price he is asking is $4500. Here is what I know from the call:
No record of timing belt service
Some records of aftermarket work done at a shop
Its too nice to track
Driven little since February
I’m after someone who knows these cars well enough to tell me whether it’s worth it to go for a $4500 car with the knowledge that its gonna need that timing belt service and maybe some other stuff. I’d definitely buy beers, do dinner with whoever took it upon themselves to do this for me if I come up to by the car.
I’m down on the South Shore of Massachusetts so it would be a 6 hour trip to pick up the car but it would be a beautiful drive!
Thanks,

I was just looking at the ad for car this morning.... Looks to be pretty well sorted. Get a vin... Start with a title check/ Carfax, They are not really complete, but could rule out a rebuilt title, or flood vechile etc.

Default Is there anyone in the area?

I'm thinking about making a July 4th long weekend outta it, if someone can meet me to look at the car and give me their opinion. Definitely buy dinner, hang out etc.
