Default My 10 year anniversary on Rennlist

On the 23rd of this month, marks 10yrs since I first joined Rennlist. Lots has happened in those 10yrs. My little girl grew up and now I'm a Grandfather. Got divorced and re-married to the most wonderful woman ever. Saved a lot of the 944's, 25 to date!! Got to help out a lot of folks with there cars, being selling them used parts or doing repair work. Still won't part out a car unless its wrecked!! So far have parted out 17 wrecked beyond repair.
Anyway, off work this week, and plan on catching up on the projects. Finishing a 87 I'm convertring from auto to manual, and adding 16v S engine into.
Swapping out a torque tube on a 89.
Do some more on my step sons 88 that I'm building for him
My daughter still drives the 86 I built for her out of a tub that I got from Josh B. in Atlanta, she swears she will never ever sell that car. We did it together.
To all of the newer young members out there, keep em on the road. If it breaks down on you, hit up folks on here for advice and used parts. Dont use the excuse to part it out, it cost more than the car is worth to fix!! Thats bull!! I can prove over and over, you can drive a 944 everyday, for the same amount of money for anyother car!!
Anyway, wish me luck for another 10yrs of repairing and keeping on the road our favorite sports car!!

Congrats on 10 years! I bought a few parts off you many years ago and then I started parting wrecked ones myself to get spares for my DD. I agree though that if you can save em, do it. It's SO much easier to fix em than to part em (and I've parted 4 of them over the years).

I never gave this a thought. This is also my 10th. They have gone by in a hury. Just think of the number of members that have left and then the new ones that have replaced them. what is fun, is to see the cycle of questions that keep repeating. Can I turbo my NA? But it's all fun,I was new here one time. I also think I'm the oldest.

Wow. Time really flies. I'm guessing it's been over 10 for me too. I really need to run up to the north side and show you the '87 I picked up. Join date shows '07 but I was on the old email lists a long time before that.

Congrats! i've had my car for about 6 1/2 years now, and it is still fun to drive.

I actually just dropped my car off at the body shop today to repair some minor accident damage to the rear bumper, and I think I may get some other dents fixed while it's in there, so I'm doing my part to keep one of these cars on the road

Good luck. Looks like I'll be up for an anniversary next spring. Time has gone by quickly.

May we all have good fortune keeping these things going.

Edit: Post 7900 - I'm about 1/3 the way to catching Matt H and he hasn't been on the board in ages...
