Default OT: what %-age of P-car enthusiasts regularly frequent RL & similar online forums?

just wondering...

RListers are a sad, hardcore bunch, spending so much time here in the company of like minded addicts, getting our daily "fix"

some of us have post counts into the thousands, and there's no question about how intense and vibrant this community is.

but i'm wondering, if RL (and similar online forums) represent a large chunk of the general enthusiast segment, or just a small-- if passionate-- minority?

at trackdays and sunday drives, there are many regulars who aren't regulars on these forums. just wondering what people think? are we a relatively tiny minority? my gut says we are...

If one hand washes the other, and neither time nor tide will wait for mortal man - is the night darkest just before you open your eyes?

(just thought I'd +1 the confusion)

I'll put it this way.... Look at this thread. https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-...-pictures.html

As you can see, I've counted over 50 924/944/968 variants, 99% of the guys I know very well.

I would say about 10-12 of them frequently visit and post on either Rennlist or Pelican. And probably another 5-7 more will rarely or seldom visit and post.

As for the rest, they are all just "normal people" (unlike us) whom I've kept in contact with through the many years of selling parts and working on their cars at the shop, and stuff like that.

So yes, I would believe you are probably correct!

i'm on rennlist almost everyday, 3si and l4p daily as well. i'm a car enthusiast and like talking to other people who are.

See I cannot even quote on this forum hahaI was trying to quote Flintro11.

I'm pretty active on Audizine, and reader of 6speed, l4p, teamspeed, and here. But here and Audizine seem to really care about the cars, history of them and the marks, other cars etc. As stated before some of the others are just about the name of their car and that is it.

This is the only true "car forum" I post on, I only check pelican for the classifieds and anonymous imageboards don't count...

Wasn't really able to get into any of the miata or rx7 forums

Default dubious honor....

as RL's #1 *attention-*****, i can state with a fair amount of certainty, that the actual numbers of people who frequent RL forums versus the actual number of people who've driven a P-car they happen to own during the past 5 years, would be a number you would find to be astonishingly low..... and of that number, those who actually regularly post, even lower.... and the numbers of people who've tinkered with 944s but whom are now out of the Porsche experience altogether (and no longer posting on this forum), embarrasingly high.

*in less than three years, i've racked the 2nd highest # of home page hits in RL history.
there are only 3 Rennlisters with 5,000 home page visits.... only 2 with 6,000,

and only RL founder, John D. himself with just north of 7,000....

.

(but closing in fast).
