Urgent: Audi flange on 968 tranny
Hi,
I snapped all the bolts on the inner CV joint yesterday morning, and today it turns out that one of the bolt holes on the flange on the 968 transmission has taken a beating leaving the flange useless. I need another flange quickly, but it needs to be ordered from Germany so I am contemplating a flange from an Audi 01E transmission. Does anybody know if it will fit?
Thanks,
Trackday/daycare-racer

Lived in Poway from 2001 till 2003. Every time there is a forest fire I check the news to see if the apartment building is still there

call Scott Dewitt @ Advanced Automotion in Corpus Christi, TX 817 939 6761.
he'll be able to tell you. and most likely, have the part in stock.

If you're asking if corresponding parts from the Audi version of this transmission will work on the 968 transmission, I can't answer.
The Audi 01E and 968 01E are the 'same' transmission to some degree. Obviously, notable difference are the rear output shaft on the Audi version, there may be some other slight difference so I don't know if everything is interchangeable.
However, contact these guys as well (no affiliation). http://www.californiamotorsports.net/index.htm
Good luck.
Take care!

Original Porsche item on the way with express delivery, never figured out the answer to the original question about the Audi flange and don't have time to wait (track day this Saturday)

The 01E flanges are quite expensive. Consider using a Timesert in the bolt hole that has been ruined - a much less expensive solution.
