sun visor clips
About 3 weeks ago the passenger side sun visor clip broke and about a week ago the driver side one gave up the ghost ....
are these items synchronized to break in sequence?
anyway, does anyone know of the metal ones that someone fabricated here on rennlist a while back?
Thanks!

+944 ^ They're like 5 bucks lol and last forever.
And YES!!!! THEY ALWAYS BREAK AT THE SAME TIME! There was a thread years ago with a good dozen people agreeing that they break in sequence haha.
Here's a great parts cross reference... include sun visor clips.

FWIW I also got the Rennbay ones after considering the VW ones. Nothing against the VW ones, just that they are also plastic and will eventually break as well I was afraid. After many times swapping it the OEM plastic ones from various parts cars for the last 2 years I was looking for a ultra long term solution.
It might be worth noting I rarely buy 'big' ticket items for my car because I would much rather find a cheaper/DIY route. That being said, so far I am very happy with the stainless steel ones from Rennbay. They are high quality pieces that will last even my high mileage daily driver for a LONG time.

Ironic, my passenger visor clip broke 4 months ago, but my driver side one hasn't yet (knock on wood). I was too lazy to buy new clips so I just took the passenger visor off!

I just installed my stainless steel ones and they are nice. Only thing that came to mind when I put them in was that in an accident, these would go straight through my skull while the plastic ones would break before my head would. I will avoid rear ending anyone or rolling the car over I put the plastic one that had not broken in my other car and it broke in less than a week in a non moving car. There is something to them going in pairs.

The VW ones are a plastic frame with a metal spring inside. I've had them for about 7 years with no problems. And you can get them in a couple different colors. They look absolutely stock.

That design can be found from all new VW based cars, like Audi, Seat, Skoda. My wife's 2011 Skoda Ocatavia wagon have them. I have installed that clip to several 924/944/968
