Default Video tour of my car

Some of my YouTube subscribers asked for an outside look at my car, since I post a lot of track videos from the inside...

So I made this yesterday after giving it a bath:

so your car is 2635 with the passenger seat in it? My car is 2670 or so- im going to drop the weight alittle by adding a lightweight battery, but i think the late phone dials are keeping the weight up. I have a lighter dash, made of fiberglass, and i left just the blowers in the cowl and ducted them for cooling and defrost. Im not sure they weight that much. I guess i could delete the bumperettes if i wanted to shave the holes.... i had to drop the power steering, headlights and passenger seat to get down to 2670 on low gas...

Great video. Can we see some shots of your garage? It looks huge!

nice setup. very cool when you took the fuse box cover off and it was empty. The trans cooler was a great idea

Dan, I have no muffler - the exhaust just stops at the torsion bar carrier. Also the lexan quarter windows help. Spare tire well was removed and capped off with an aluminum plate. All the sound deadening in the cabin has been removed - some of the rubber under coating has been removed. It has just 1 radiator fan. No heater core or blowers. I don't know if you can see from the video, but the doors are very cut out, too. The bottom half of my dash is cut off - not as light as a fiberglass one, but it's gotta help.

Removing the unused relays and fuses saved nearly a pound (and stopped the battery from discharging!)

It's not small...

There's actually a picture in this month's Panorama on page 78.

Looking good Van! I'll have to see that puppy in person when I swing over for those doors, maybe next week or so.

Hey - you have another 944 in there!

Did you pull those Christmas lights out of the car to save weight too?

Pulling out the fusebox is a mess. It's a tagnle of an infinite amount of copper plates with an infinitely larger number of connections.

Nice video.

Take care!

Nice pic in Panorama. I ask because I just built one and like to see what others have incorporated into the build!
