My Visit to the Porsche Museum, Nurburgring, and F1 Monza Grand Prix (Pic Heavy!)
For our honeymoon, my wife and I took a trip to Germany as well as Italy, Switzerland, and Austria. A few of our stops included some great motoring enthusiast highlights.
View from the train station in Stuttgart
First P-Car to run the Mille-Miglia
The world's first 911, cough, I mean beetle!
4 wheel drive twin supercharged racer. None of the panels lined up at all.
Some 944 ads on display...
904 Carrera GTS, *drool*
Interior of the museum, German presentation at its finest.
Glad this didn't go into production...
A bit much?
935 hotness.
2.7 RS, yea yea yea
924 GTP Le Mans, I love the side exhaust.
924 Prototype
Mini turbo exhibit...
Exploded version of the 917 turbo engine with 1200hp.
In front of the Carrera GTS.
Alain Prost's McLaren F1 Car that sourced the Porsche turbo v6.
A twin turbo'd version of the 5L V8 from the 928S4 for a racing boat. Bonkers.
Our favorite Pinky!
All the 917s.
They have these things called Sound Showers where you can experience the engine sounds of various P-cars. Probably the best exhibit in the whole museum.
Museum's garage.
Italy for the Monza Grand Prix
Most crowded event I have ever been to, and I've been to a World Cup game.
Go McLaren!
Safety Car
Hamilton
Button
Nurburgring Day
I did 4 laps, started at 12:35 and got it down to 10:20 on the last lap. It was only open for 2 hours that day to the public.
Driving a BMW 318d, not the greatest, but, great fun in the corners.
It's 2 hours from Frankfurt in case anybody cares.
The card you get for laps.
Old Pit Garages
Pit lane.
On top of the observation deck, you can see the castle in the distance.
Public entrance
I am the stig.
Cya in a bit!
Parking lot shots.

Here are some more, you're limited to 50 pics per post.
I took videos as well, some are these are pretty entertaining if you fancy an episode of Top Gear.
I could only get video of 2 laps on the 'ring because the HD iPhone video takes up so much space. My wife was very patient, to put it lightly. She's not used to intense driving, so, parental discretion advised. The elevation changes were unbelievable, you have to do it yourself to truly experience it.
Nurburgring Lap 1
Lap 2 (I go off part of the way, a little gardening)
Autobahn Hijinx (Maxed it in this movie)
Nurburgring GP Track from Above
The video doesn't do the sheer VOLUME of the F1 engines, but, cool.
Driving through Switzerland and the Alps.
House in Frankfurt, accompanied nicely with a 964.
This jacket was $1,500 so, I had to get a picture of it on.
More 'ring shots.
Doing my Vettel impression, poorly.
Nissan Exhibit

I got to drive a Ferrari Testarossa a few days ago which crossed off one of my bucket list(drive a super car). Owning a Porsche is another. You did 2 more of them by driving the ring and visiting the museum. Congrats on that (and the marriage too btw), and thanks for sharing the pics. Awesome stuff

Very nice photos. I have been to the museum once, earlier this year in fact. It was like visiting Mecca for my Porsche loving father's son. I grew up around 911's and 912's.
I drove the autobahn for the first time (after three years of going to Germany about three times a year for business) just a couple of months ago. I arrived early and shaking at my destination. I told my host "I like that autobahn thing you guys have here. If I could, I'd roll it up and take it home with me."
