just did DE in my NA 944
Hi all,
Just completed my first DE at Road Atlanta this past weekend and it was an absolute blast. The 84 guards red did great on the track and held together nicely, I was also rather impressed at how she handled even with older street tires. Got another 6 months til my next DE and was wondering what are some things to keep the track driving fresh so I don't get rusty. And also what are some things I should do to the car for next time to enhance safety, performance, etc..
All comments are helpful so thanks

Go-karting; iRacing; watching lots of video.
Brake pads, good tires, good driving shoes, comfortable helmet.
Brake fluid flush, alignment, read some books.

I have some great racing shoes and a
Brake fluid flush with super blue is mandatory in my book as well. Should i get any specific alignment for track use or does it not matter?

What Van said, plus look for any autoX events and make sure all your steering components are in good shape. Ross Bentley's "Speed Secrets" books are quite good - Especially the first one.

I have 951S sway bars on my 924S, and they were a big improvement. Getting good tires (max performance summer or extreme performance summer) makes a big difference too.
Otherwise, the other piece of advice I have is to check if you're using oil at the track (not uncommon) and top off if necessary.
Glad to hear that you enjoyed the DE - these cars really make for great track day fun

The 26.8mm front and 18mm rear work quite well and should be a cheap purchase for you. From http://www.clarks-garage.com it looks you could have a 20mm or 21.5 front and either a 14mm rear bar or possibly none.

Buy a gopro for the next time and record your sessions. Use the records to have someone help analyze lines, brake points etc.
Depending on your next track, assuming its Road Atlanta, start driving the track in your head at night before you go to sleep visualize corners and what you should be doing. Sounds goofy but I'm a tenth off the PCA track record there and I attribute some of my gains to visualizing tracks before driving each day.

+1 on video. A GoPro stuck to a side window will let you see exactly where you are (on that side) and whether you're really using all the track.
Videos are great for motivation, and even better for informal coaching from your instructors once you're solo.
