I had this problem many years ago on my S2 and it went away after inspecting the pedal area and fiddling with it. The pedal seem to stick and I think something there got bent. With a small correction the problem went away for good. The bent was not obvious so you need to have a very careful look. And yes the car randomly developed a stuck throttle while on the move which can be scary.
