Default Bypassing '89 S2 Alarm

Hi guys,

I'm having some trouble with the alarm in my '89 S2 and need help bypassing it. The Clarks (and elsewhere on these forums) instructions for this procedure are WRONG. This is what happens when you jumper pins 1&4 on the '89 S2 alarm module:

That is (err, was) about 10" of the wire for pin 4. I peeled it back until I didn't see any more melty goodness and cut it out.

For reference, this is the alarm module, the 928.637.104.05:

Which pins (or set of pins) are supposed to be jumpered to disable the alarm? I've found one reference to pins 1&3. Nothing says anything (that I can see) about pins 7&8.
