I raced with those guys for about 12 years- great people and very entertaining behind the scenes.... We all got out of racing pretty much - wish you could have seen that place when we were all at our best... Quite impressive list of racers over there-

How bad do they rub on the highway? Can't be that bad when just cruising I imagine?

Mine rub like crazy but only when hitting bumps or cornering hard. I am 1.25 hours away from the meet location.

I really think new shocks would fix the issue for the most part but we just bought a house and that is draining my bank account nicely. I have a couple weeks so hopefully I can get it ready.

You guys are on to something good here. This is how the 944 Fest started about 2001.

Thank you! I have been hosting a big 944 rally & swap meet each year in Orlando which yields a lot of cars. I think this year we had over 40 924/944/968 show up! I am throwing this Atlanta meetup together as a feeler to see what kind of turnout we can get and see what ideas we can put together about having a big 944 event in this area possibly next year.

So far we've got who from FL coming up?
Lina - 86 944
Ralph - 84 944
Jake - 86 944
George - 83 944
RJ - 84 944 - maybe but not likely going to make it
Is Luiz going to bring his car you think? Or maybe Fabio's car?
And hopefully we can find a way to bring my 924S up also..

Oh definitely, please do! That's a forum I am not on and I have no clue why.

Sounds like a fun outing with folks of similar interest. Unfortunately, I'll be at Road Atlanta all weekend totally involved in the Peachstate PCA DE. Maybe next year? Be sure to post lots of pictures of all those great 944's!

Hi Hal, I got your PM and thought I sent a reply back but apparently I must have missed the big ol' "Submit Message" button at the bottom.
Next year I think we'll have a big giant 944 gathering of record proportions but until then I think we'll probably have several mini-meets here and there. Have fun at the DE, wish I could join you guys up there!

I may try to make it also. I live in North Georgia, and I hate driving anywhere close to Atlanta. But if the Florida guys can make, surely I can handle a 45 min drive.

Default Parts

So i figured i would kick it off.. i need some pretty common parts yall have laying around. I hate shipping small insignificant parts, so maybe someone attending can pay for some fuel by offing some extra parts (to me specifically ;-)

I need this to get to a better state:

I could use whatever retainer ring this thing uses- I am used to the newer style that the boot fits under and clips into the console- i think this has 2 pieces, and a cover... also could use the shift boot... really anything to make it NOT look like so much *** in one spot!

*side door molding trim - the 6 pieces that stick on the side of the car.
*Drivers side fog light bucket-
*throw out bearing
*slave cylinder
*anything dealing with a belt replacement (belts, waterpump, idlers...)
*small vent located to the left of the steering wheel and just below the gauges on early 44.

Anything race or trackday related- as this is getting converted to a trackday car and that usually ends up as a race car for me historically (but i need to get it looking presentable until then)

Thanks and looking forward to it!

Bump - just one week away now! So close, yet so far...

Phil - I may have a few of those bits laying around, I'll check this week and bring them to the meet if I do have them.

No luck on getting my 951 running yet. It has been sitting for about 6 months, the engine turns over but no spark even tried using the dreaded startig fluid to see if i could get something from it. any ideas? I parked the car due to unreliable starting, the car ran great but if I tried starting it hot it would never start until sitting for an hour or better
