Default Factory Seat Belt Recall/Replacement?

Does Porsche have a program to replace seat belts under safety regulations/recalls/etc?

My original belts look fine (car was not a beater) but was originally a Texas car (so was exposed to high temps) and I have noticed that the black plastic triangles that the belts thread through don't look that great. They have discolored and have small cracks from age. Anyone else experience this?

Howdy!
Searching my VIN only yielded the A-arm recall and the Fuel Line recall.
Certainly, if you fear seatbelt failure you are obliged to replace any suspect components.

I don't know if Porsche has a program or is obligated to, but they are still listed on the PCNA website. So I would assume they are still available.

Scroll down to classics and enter your model year. They have a pricelist you can buy on CD but cheaper to call a dealership. Hope this helps.

I believe all cars sold in the USA have a lifetime warranty on any part(s) dealing with the seat belt/restraint system. You should take it in to the dealer to have it looked at.

A service adviser told me about this years ago so 2 years ago I took an out of warranty car in to get the seat belt looked at (belt doesn't retract back and stays loose). They ordered/replaced the whole thing under warranty with no out of pocket expense and they told me the same thing. By lifetime I'm referring to the car, regardless of owner.

Give it a try!

I may be thinking of a different part, but I'm pretty sure under that plastic you will find metal.

Why any part of the restraining system would be made of plastic only is beyond me. Additionally, these cars were made during a time when metal was cheaper than plastic. It doesn't add up. I'm going to have to go look at mine...
