Is $80 too much??
Hey everyone...
Cool boards I guess.
Anyway, is $80 too much for 2 parts of FREON? Had the AC recharged and that's what I was charged. That and $80 labor to fix my cruise control and AC.

Freon R12 is illegal to manufacture in the US. I think it's been since 1995 that all appliances and A/C systems have to use R134A or other alternative.
It's hard to believe the entire contry is living off whatever was made prior to the cut off. I think it must be coming in under the radar.

R134a is the only "really" cost effective way to fix your problem. You can convert your car to R134a fairly inexpensively, and then when it leaks you can re-charge it with ozone friendly refills that cost $7 a pop.
