Default Mirror questions

Grabbed my drivers side mirror today and it broke..well sorta. It just kinda flops around now like a spring inside it popped off or something. Does anyone know if they come apart? TIA

If you swing it through 90 degrees you'll find an allen key bolt try tightening that. It MAY solve the problem. Otherwise?????

Sounds like a good time to go to 968 mirrors if the crewe doesn't tighten it up.

Sounds like it seperated from the base, you need to pull the base off as well and get under it. Screw it back in with a BIG screwdriver.
You will see what I mean when you have it apart.

Post Side mirror issue

I got in my car and shut the drivers door tonight and I thought I heard a strange sound when I did. When I opened the door I noticed something strange with the side mirror. Upon inspecting it closer, it appears something has come loose. The mirror is no longer being held on to the base. Any ideas?

When the mirror seperates from the base you may have to take the wires out to get enough pressure on the special hollow bolt to get it all back together and tight. Uses the same 12 point tool as the flywheel bolts.

You can get the metric wire pin tool from a good autoparts store. Yes it has to be metric.
