Here is the source: A German car magazine visited the archives and posted a series of pictures. There are quite a few interesting ones relating to the front engine Porsches; also a 965 prototype with an Audi V8 engine in the back, and in one picture, the snout of the 989 (4-seater) clay model is visible.

Wow, that is really cool! I've given some thought about how I would go about pulling off an AWD 951, but I never considered putting the engine in the rear. Does this car still use a variant of the Audi 016 tranny? If only there was a way to mod the transaxle to run a PTO shaft up into a center diff, and then swap in the front end/diff from a quattro and keep the engine in the front and not have to cut up the car to fit a tranny right behind it. There are easier/better ways to do it, but they involve cutting up the car a good bit.

I'd love to know more about the maroon 944/968 hybrid in the middle. It clearly has a 944 spoiler, side mirrors, and phone dials. Yet it also has a (prototype?) 968 rear bumper and tail lights. Interesting!

If you look in #4 you see the front of the car is the standard S2/turbo nose. My guess? the S3 mule or design study before they went full bore on the 968 redesign.

Sorry, I don't have any additional information about these carsl
Note the extended rockers/door sills, and that the tail lights are not transparent. This looks like a design model where they took a real car and added things with clay.
