Default What are 951's bringing these days?

Hey folks...

Used to be a regular poster but got my car squared away after year 1 of ownership and "knock on wood" haven't had any problems since...granted in 5 years I've barely driven it 10k miles.

I have a 87 Turbo guards red with black interior...lots of work on it.

Trying to figure out a reasonable price...can't really find anything close to this for sale...

New clutch w/ Fidanza flywheel about 7 years ago (probably has around 30k on it) by the previous owner.

Fikse rims w/ Michelin tires (~6k miles on them)

Upgraded brakes from the 928 - I refurbed them (re-painted, etc...) last year and new pads. Drilled rotors in great shape that came with the kit.

Vitesse Stage 2 MAF/Turbo

Zeitronix WB / black **** boost control

Tial WG upgrade

Saratoga Glass Top

Custom fit car cover for the 944

Replaced all the usual stuff - vacuum lines, FPR, fuel lines, etc...

New battery as of 4 months ago

...other odds and ends stuff...

Interior is a 9/10 - a few cracks in the dash but it's all original and in great shape - including the floor mats.

Exterior is a 8/10 - passes the 10' test very well but as you get closer you'll see a few spots where a previous owner took the paint down with the buffer to the primer. It's on edges so clearly the guy wasn't using a rotary and didn't know what he was doing. He also scraped the old glued on fender protectors to aggressively and got into the paint a little...have to get pretty close to see it.

I think a pro that knows how to work a buffer could do something amazing with the paint - it's the original guards red single stage paint.

Anyway, it's a great car...just don't drive it enough anymore to justify having it sit around. I spend more time cleaning it up for the few times I drive it than actually driving it.

Any thoughts on what I could sell this thing for? If it's anything, realistically, under 9k I'm just going to keep it. I have at least $15k in it and know I won't get that but I think 9-10k is the lowest I could go without shedding a few tears.

Thanks in advance!!

I paid $1500 for a daily driver 951 a couple of years ago. Drove it from California to New York without any spare parts.

If you find the right buyer, you might get what you are asking for, but 10K will buy an unmolested pristine 89 turbo s.

I think if you aren't in a hurry to sell it you could get close to if not in your range based on condition and what comes with it.

Out here they go for $7k -15 k depending on condition and mods. If you hold out awhile for the right buyer you're in the right range

Hagerty Insurance has a valuation tool that is a good place to start, http://www.hagerty.com/valuationtools/HVT/VehicleSearch

Here's the basic value.. Mods can either help or hurt depending on what they are and who the buyer is..
