Unhappy central locking prob

ok also today, the passenger side door does not seem to be behaving,
heres the scenarios

1> can lock/unlock both doors using key in pass.door (leds light etc)
(can hear clicks from the door)

2> can lock/unlock drivers side door using drivers key (pass. door stays in what ever state it is)

3> central lock button only works for drivers door pass door again stays in same state

4> alarm key fob lockks unlocks drivers door, not passenger door

ideas

I had this same problem only with my driver's side door, and it ended up being a broken plastic rod that connects to the actuator. It may ne worth checking out, just take off the door panel and you should be able to see it.

I'm having problems with my central locking too:

- Looks like I don't have power locking on either side.

- The central-locking red light on the console is on, and pressing the button does nothing.

- The LED's in the buttons stay on whether the car is locked or unlocked.

HELP!

Is the pass door supposed to unlock when the car is locked and I unlock it with the key in the driver's door? The pass door doesn't respond when I use the key to lock/unlock driver's door. When I use the key in pass door, the driver's and pass door lock and unlock. Everything else works like it is supposed to.

I too have issues....

- Console swtich will not operate locks
- I can lock the drivers door with the key, and it will "power lock" then quikly unlock. If I hold the key, it will stay locked
- At the same time, the passenger side will unclock
- The centeral locking switch will illuminate
- Locking passenger door will not "power lock"
- Unlocking passenger door will "power unlock" both doors
- Locking switch will go out

I think the brain is all fugged up. I have new micro-switches in both doors, and have tried to adjust the acutators. (if they require too much pressure to operate, the brain will disable it)

Crazy huh? I'll remove the brain to check solder joints and components this weekend.

I think so... it's been a while since mine worked right.

FWIW, I can lock and unlock both doors from either the pass or drivers door.

I believe it is attached to the steering column.

It's black box with a 911 part number attached to the steering column with a metal clip.

My locks lock than unlock, than will lock on the next try.
The red light on the console is always on.
If I lock the car from the inside I can only unlock from the outside.

I tried another brain, same problems.

I had the same problem with my 89 NA, it turned out to be the plastic rod that connects to the actuator. it had popped off. It takes a bit of trial and error to adjust it correctly. It drove me nuts until I figured it out. I replaced a perfectly good brain in the process. You should be able to unlock both doors from either side, and lock them from the console with the engine running.
