Kuhmo 712's are great tires for the money- probably ~$90/tire in 16" sizing.

i just wish i could

A. sell my 16" fuchs (early offset)
and
B. find a decent set of 16 or 17 in five spoke wheels at a decent price ($600 to 700) i'd need to get that much for my fuchs if i were to get them though...

anyone want a set of 16x7 fuchs??? fit all early 944's, they're in great shape!

I put a set of 17" Kumho 712's on my 911 and am not to thrilled with them.
They are a fair tire for the money.

You would do better with Sumitumo's or Yoko's.

I have these rims they looked great on my white 89 NA with colored centers until the rear end crash. They will be going onto whatever 944 I decide to go with next. I was running 225/50 in front and 245/45 in the rear, I loved the way the car tracked!

Mike

Just picked up the head for the 86 NA from the machine shop. Soon to have a 944 back on the road.

I have them and like them very much. Bolt right onto late offset cars, provide lots of airflow around the rotors, even facilitate brake bleeding without lifting the car (some of which is done by braille). Not the lightest wheel, but not as heavy as many of the aftermarket ones. As always, have the weights mounted inside the wheel only.

holy smokes! 3 pages of responses to this thread and one response to mine on exactly the same topic, wtf?

anyway, if you dont mind Andy, ill be hijacking this thread for a moment

Andy? what size wheels are those? i know they are 16" but width? 7 and 8 or 6 and 8 or what? I just bought a set of these exact same wheels from a guy on the rennlist classifieds for 100 a wheel + 100 shipping, i cant wait as well oh yea, where did you find yours for that price? i might want to find some 7" fronts.. anyone wanna trade for 6" ?

mine are 6x16 front and 8x16 rear so the question is what kinda tires should i put on em? im hearing something about 215-55/16 for front and 235-50/16 for rear or something along those lines.
suggestions?

also maybe i should get spacers for the front to make up for the 1/2" in this wheel will be compared to my 7" stock phone dials?

btw can someone explain how spacers work? do you just put it on before you put on the wheel or does it attach somewhere else deeper on the hub?

thanks. and i guess im not the only one that thinks these wheels are awesome, C2's (968 wheels) rock

yep, those look like the set sitting in my garage with snow tires on them.

im glad you quickly found the wheels. with the 944 seats gone, and the 69 firebird seats in the living room (waiting for me to order upholstery so i can fetrofit them into my 68) Jill was not warming up to the idea of me doing anything moreto a car than washing it. at least for a while.

Simon,
I got them from a guy that lives two towns over from me. he had a 951 and just bought a 968 that had the snows on them. I offered andy a swap since the 968 rims are for snows, but decided not to ruffle feathers at home instead.

Mine were Boxter wheels, but I'll be selling my speed yellow 16" cups 1's (with gorgeous color crest yellow background center caps) in the near future. I figure some Boxter owner with a SY car will want them for snow wheels or something.

Damian: what are you looking to get for the yellow cups? Methinks they would look cool on a red car zooming by on the track....

Simon--The wheels I am buying match my S2's factory spec: 16x7 front, 16x8 rear. I have the standard 205 front, 225 rear tires (I assume Porsche designers knew what tire sizes were best).

Where were your rims shipped from? $100 is a lot!!

Damian--What rims are you gonna put on your Cab after you sell the yellow stockers??

Andy, it all depends how much I decide to spend. Ideally, I'd like the Speedlines that were on the Turbo S (or 964 Turbo), but I'd be happy with any of the good quality replica's-RH, NR Auto, B&W. After that comes either the 17" Cup 2's like I had on my coupe, or maybe the 17" Cup 1 version of the wheels you're buying. It's all going to depend on my financial wherewithal.

Z--Yellow wheels would look cool on your red car, only if you had a big yellow number on the doors!

Damian--Are you gonna paint the next rims you get SY, or leave them silver?
