Default Another timing belt change thread, but this one is about a 924 turbo

I was in the market for another 944 N/A but locally there is a 924 turbo for a good price and good condition near me. I remember changing the timing belt on my 944 and what a PITA it was. I was just wondering how hard the belt change is compared to the 944? The 924 turbo is an interference engine just like our 944's so it needs to be changed regularly. I can only find information on changing the non-turbo 924 timing belt.

Long story short:
Comparably, how difficult is the 924 turbo timing belt change vs the 944?

It's a ground ball in comparison, Just a plain ol timing belt and tensioner.
IIRC you just need to remove the air cleaner assembly, the timing belt cover and the alternator/AC belts. Loosen the belt tensioner and remove belt. Assembly is reverse. Tension is hand checked. About 30 bucks in parts. Add about 50 more for a waterpump.

Of course since its a 924 turbo everything else rubber should be replaced while you're in there. That is gonna cost you when you can find the parts. A few hoses/elbows are NLA and require some legwork.

Thanks for the reply. I think I may get the car. Only thing is the A/C doesn't work. I'm most likely scrap the whole system while I'm in there changing belts.
