Nice looking 951, the club sport wheels look great (not to mention they are forged & as strong as can be).

Is your screen name a reference to E34 BMWs?

Thanks!

Yes, it's a reference to the e34. Had a 540/6 for about 12 years that slowly transitioned from DD to track car... Recently sold it and picked up the 951 as the replacement fun car.

Thanks!

Next step is stereo... Been searching around on the different message boards and haven't seen anything that excites me. Will probably run by a couple local stereo stores and see what they have to say... Anyone have a good aftermarket setup? In a perfect world I'll run splits up front, coax rear with a small concealed sub in the rear (8" or 10"). From what I've read depth of the front speakers can be a real problem... And I'm concerned with maintaining a very clean appearance.

You have the right idea on the stereo set-up. There is room if you cut out the old back speakers for better and bigger speakers. Then use vinyl to upholster over that top corner with the speaker underneath. I'll post some pictures later. It can be done nicely and look factory, but you do have to cut the old ones out to make the update fit. Then a sub in the rear. I put an amp in the wheel week flap compartment and a bazooka tube secured with straps on trunk floor so it can easily be removed if needed. Updated the front speakers with the best that would fit under the original covers. Not great, but ok. The back end of the system is so close to you that I can't notice the weaker front speakers. I updated the head unit and managed to find one of the old German stick e.q.'s to complete the real time capsule look. You can always do more, but this was more than enough for me.

Thanks Pat... glad I finally pulled the trigger! Did you ever track down your old car?

Interesting... thanks for the post and looking forward to seeing the pics, especially the vinyl upholstering.

Thanks Matt.. I'm a big fan of the color.

In other news, the seats came back today and there are a couple of areas that need to be addressed. They aren't bad by any means, but they aren't perfect... so still waiting for the seats. I'm ready to bring it home already.

The black one is a shifter, Intrepid Silverstone with a Honda CR125. The kart in back us is a TAG kart, Kosmic T11 with a Vortex Super Rok. Pretty fun stuff, with a little one I don't get them out enough.

Seats back (they're now in the car) along with the re-covered steering wheel, re-covered armrest and re-dyed shift boot. Cat had a rattle, there was an issue with the auxiliary fan and there was a vibration tracked down to motor mounts, so those issues have now been taken care of... should be picking it up this weekend (assuming they don't find more things that need fixing). Still waiting on more info from Lindsey regarding the M-Tune. If I haven't heard anything in the next 10 days I'll probably cancel the order and live with the Autothority chipset that's in the car now.

Car is done and ready to be picked up this weekend. Managed to convince a friend of mine to ditch his 3" Lindsey in favor of a 4" exhaust.

Poor quality videos but I'm pretty happy with the way the car has turned out. I was worried it would be too loud, but inside the car it's not bad at all. No drone which was the biggest concern.

In-car

Outside

5th Gear roll on throttle

The car has been back home for a week now, thoroughly enjoying it. Polished it up this morning for a V Day dinner cruise with the wife.
