What's your oil pressure?
What's everyone running at idle and during normal driving?
Before starting up from winter hibernation I switched oil from 15-40(Royal Purple) to 15-50(Mobil 1). I let the car run for 15-20 minutes in 65 degree weather and gauge sits on the 5 mark. Driving around a few miles and car sits at max gauge position (above 5) when accelerating (no wide open throttle). After car has been running about an hour (with no shut downs), it drops closer to the 4 mark at idle.
Was wondering what everyone else sees as I had a few people tell me that the car should be at the 4 mark when lightly accelerating.
I f I recall correctly last year the car was around 3 mark during idle.
Thanks everyone!

Valvoline VR1 20W-50. It's at 5 BAR when driving around, and between 2.5-3 BAR at idle when warmed up. I've been curious if pressure while driving around should be lower than 5, say around 4-4.5?

My '87 924S with 132.5K is 5 bar at warm up and driving speeds. Maybe drops to 3.5-4 at idle. OE rod bearings. Valvoline RO VR1 20-50 and filter changed every 3500 miles. AZ climate.
My '88 924S identical at 72.7K

Mine, according to the gauge, gets down to 4 bar cruising and 1.5-2 bar idle.. During the standard early car throttle dip when gas cuts off, pressure light flickers.... New rod bearings.

I use an Italian branded sender that is slightly larger but fits will and is very accurate.
OR you may need to replace the early OEM 3 piece OPRV with the updated 1 piece if you have not done so. If you have the 1 piece OPRV have you replaced the internal "O" rings?
Just ideas since you have new rod bearings. Your oil pressure seems incorrect.

I am curious to see if my idle oil pressure will be closer to 3 once warmer weather rolls in.
Car has 75k miles on it and first time I am running the 50w oil in it.

Took it out in almost 70 degree weather and I finally saw the bar drop to about 3.5-4 at idle. Also few times just at cruising was at 4 and 5 at heavy throttle.

Does anyone know what the oil pressure can be max, i.e when does the OPRV actually open? My race car with a 10 bar supplementary gauge will show 7-8 bar when cold with a 10-60 race oil. Then it will drop when warm to the normal levels.
