Default Props to kyle @ only944.com

I ordered a black vinyl armrest kit for my 944 for $20 shipped and just installed it tongiht, and I have to say, I do love it!

Kyle shipped it 2 day priority, his instructions were spot on, and the armrest looks factory new again.

I used clothes pins to keep everything in place and reduce the amount of super glue off my fingers and on the plastic base.

Thank again Kyle, from a 944 person to another. Pics below of the newly installed cover and the old gnarly one.

I agree, bought a leather shift boot and this. Small things like this make the car even more enjoyable now that everything is nice and new.

I ordered a short shifter and linkage arm earlier this week and he refunded me $18.00 because there was an overpricing error with their automatic shipping quote system ... I found that to be pretty honest on his part !

Cheers

I have ordered several items from only944 and have been more than pleased with the quality of each item. The short shifter and thrust bearing shifter lever in particular are excellent products.

While we're singing Kyle's praises, he also sells a linkage arm for the transaxle that it well worth the $22, immediately noticable improvement in shift feel. Our cars need all the help they can get in this area IMO. Install is a little tricky unless the trans is out but still worth tackling.

+1 for Kyle.

I think the 944 shift action feels great - why do you say it needs all the improvement it can get? Try driving a VW with a cable shifter.

It's not inherently bad, but after all these years the parts are worn. You have the pin and sleeve up front which wallows out, there's the linkage itself which has a plastic coupler susceptible to wear (mine was crazy sloppy), and you have the linkage arm which has rubber compression bushings on it. After 30 years they aren't in good shape.

After replacing all of them, shifting feels a million bucks better, it's well worth the money to overhaul, it feels really nice and you almost forget the tranny is out back.

I just installed the only944 shift lever and it is amazing how smooth it moves. AMAZING!

I hope it is still this smooth when I get the transmission back in the car.

I'll see myself out.

I prompted Kyle to fabricate some solid and semi solid transmission mounts for early 83-85 gearboxes ... something like Lindsey does for the later models !

Perhaps if he gets enough requests it might get the ball rolling ... let's get the emails started !!!
Apparently,i get the first one free

Cheers
