I've used 'Back to Black' before- it's akin to tire shine in my book. It looks great right away, then you can't even tell you did anything after a few weeks.

I think it'd be worth a shot, but be advised that removing the product from that porous material would be difficult.

I am gonna try that 3M stuff the person above posted.

My spoiler has started to loose the smooth outer finish and the more porous internal rubber is showing in some places. The 3M stuff seems like it would fix fading and oxidation, but I'm hoping that plasti-dip will create a new smooth surface. Looks like I'll have to give it a shot this winter.

I'd really like to know how that goes. It's crossed my mind.
The bondo will not replace that smooth outer finish, you are right.

I ordered the 3M stuff off of amazon. I have it now and going to try it on my Nissan Frontier fenders to see how it goes. I'll post some results. Hard part is trying to find a good time to do it, since its dark before I leave to and from work.

Awesome. I don't know if you read the bmw forum that was posted, but make sure to tape off areas if you are not sure you can be careful. Sounds like the stuff is pretty extreme. Good luck! Please post the results.

I used the 3M Bondo 800 on my rear spoiler. People say it lasts a long time.

My rear bumper strip (single strip, euro bumper) is pretty sun-faded. I'm going to give plastidip a shot one day this week and report back. I have some spare bumper blocks for my old US bumpers I'll experiment on, and also try the heat gun method although I'm almost positive it will end badly for the rubber but whatever.

Did someone say something about plastidip? lol everyone should know by now how much I love the stuff. Mine isn't too faded yet but this gives me an excuse to buy more plastidip. Ha
Good idea guys!

I used Forever Black on my 911 bumperettes 2 years ago and they still look good. Goes on in thin layers with a foam brush. A 944 spoiler is an ideal application for it and one bottle might do the entire spoiler.

+1 on Forever Black. It's the best restoration product for restoring black plastic. I've used it on metal parts too.. it will stain your paint so use painter's tape to mask off..

Alright I've hear that recommendation twice so there must be something about this stuff. I'm definitely going to check it out. Thanks for the point about the paint!
