I have seen a few different ones available at www.huntleyracing.com
Dunno if they are worth 1200 bucks, but they are available

Not sure they're available. Been thinking about the same thing for my S2. Want more power!

I've only seen/noticed them for the 951's and I was thinking of one for mine when I had one.

Let me know if you find one for the N/A's.

And check out the Canada forum for Canadian action.

Oh man, now you've done it. Now a bunch of folks are going to post that you should just get a 951. Nice going

I thought I saw one at Performance Products, I could be wrong. If you are knowelegable, make a kit for less than half the price. Get a ford MAF from like a Fox body 5.0L and a fuel/air controller. I have a MAF from a Ford sitting here and have done alot of footwork on the subject. I'm not claiming to be an expet and don't hold me responsible if anything happens to your car as a result. The NA along with the turbo both use Bosch Motronic. Other manufacturers use the Motronic as well, like Volvo. Ford systems are very similar to the Motronics. They both use a 5.1V signal for the AFM. I beleive it's the EEC-IV system by Ford. There's a good book out there on the ford system. You may have to make a set of chips to compensate for thye different curve of signal. Good Luck

Why not go for a MAP kit, instead of MAF.

All the places i'v seen about the subject says MAP is the way to go. Easy connection, since you can freely place the sensor, connected via a tube to the manifold. The MAF requires to be in the air stream thus requiring new inlet tubing.

Both the MAF and the MAP requires some kind'a computer to translate the Voltage delivered from the sensor to the Motronic input (a piggyback) since the voltage curve on the AFM is not equal to the MAF or MAP output, the AFM has a progressive voltage output relative to to airflow, where the MAF is linear. see http://ww.frwilk.com/944dme/

How about going all the way and replace the Motronic with a new modern ECU system that you can program. f.i. the some of these new system's could eliminate the distributor by having direct control over the ignition, and 4 separate injector control's vs. the Motronic's Dual injector control where 2 injectors is spraying at a time waisting petrol.

Another solution is a PIGGY BACK like this

http://www.perfectpower.com/products/smt6.asp

If you attach a MAP sensor and a air temperature sensor you can eliminate the AFM. And you tune the car by a laptop PC. This preserves the Motronic.

Hmmm, that's a lot fo different options. I didn't realize the MAF kit would be that much.

nine-44: unfortunatly i dont think i am knowledgable enough to produce my own kit.

ilikemy944-thanks for the sight, i'll check it out!

944ZEN-i was thinking the same thing..upgrade to new ecu, but i don't want to spend that much ( hence the "just buy a 951, ringin in my ears, lol). And when i asked about the MAF, i had no idea it would be 1200. But it's still something to think about. I will check out the MAP kit though, thanks!

Study the dyno results at Huntley closely, they claim a 10 hp incresse but I only see a 4.4 hp increase? (944 N/A MAF stage 1)

I'm working on one now. It's in the troubleshooting stages at the moment. We're not happy with the fuel maps yet. It is tending to run way rich at the upper section of the power band.

I built my own. Bought a used Arc2 on e-bay for $100 and a used pro-flow 75mm MAF sensor for $50 on e-bay. It does seem to make a difference but not enough to justify $1,000+ that vendors want.
