Question

What is this part?

I'm helping my buddy restore a 78 924 and there's this little ceramic thing in front of the radiator on the driver's side. It looks to me like some sort of resistor, but I'm not sure. It's broken and nothing's connected to it, just trying to figure out what it is and if we need it. TIA!

Probably the resistor for the radiator fan.
