SiriusXM radio for 1991 944 S2
Have a fairly pristine 1991 944 S2 with only 75,000 miles on it.
The Blauplunkt radio in it doesn't have much range. Radio stations also don't transmit at the same range they used to as more and more people access radio stations via the internet (Well at least I do.)
I was thinking about switching over to a SiriusXM radio -- but it seems that the only way I can do it is by adding a component rather than replacing the radio.
Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

You can either buy a head unit with satellite radio built in or buy a separate satellite receiver module to add to your existing head unit, and antenna.
Those are your two choices.
What kind of 'ideas or suggestions' were you looking for?

My S2's radio reception is poor also. I have the Sirrus mobile unit. Just plug into the cigarette lighter, turn you radio to an unused frequency and set the unit to the same and you're good to go. The antennae will slip between the central vents. Easy to stash out of sight when parked and you can use it indoors or out with a different docking setup.

I have xm in my 91 s2.
Bought a Sony head unit with an aux plug on the face plate.
Put an xm Roady unit on a bracket to the passenger side of the center console
Ran the antenna wire thru the moulding and up out the hatch to just behind the sunroof.
Power from the switched power at the radio.

I bought an older model of this a few years back. had a USB port in front for thumb drive of tunes, radio, cd and built in bluetooth for hands free calling and Sirius app streaming. That may or may not work for you depending on data usage. Pretty reasonable. It will take a sirius tuner too.
