has anyone taken on seat hinge covers? Or are they too big to be practically printed?
They could probably be printed, but I don't think it would be economical or practical - Even though I have a printer, I'd try to source a nice used set first.
I also can't see a printed version having the right texture. Achieving reasonable toughness on thin-wall parts would also be a concern.
Per popular demand - I'm sharing the STL files for the bellhousing plugs - ZIP file attached.
Square for TDC hole w/ 'handle'

PLUS, bonus plugs for the speed and reference sensor holes (for updated bracket) if you've given up on them.
The bellhousing plugs fit perfectly for me, and others.... but there must be odd-sized holes out there because a few people have had the square one slip right through. Results may vary!
I suggest Ninjaflex or similar polyurethane.

Here is my latest project. My passenger side sunroof receiver broke and I modeled this in NX. This is the first prototype in PLA and The rough area is from the supports (I know now that I need to print in other orientation because those are very hard to remove). I will be test fitting it as soon as I can get in the car.
I bought an aluminum adapter to fit a 3" cone filter onto my AFM, but I was very unhappy with the design. It blocked significant parts of the AFM opening and I'm sure it negatively affected how the motor ran. So I did a quick design based off the stock adapter that does a smooth, cross sectionally constant transition from a 2.5" circle to the 50mm by 65mm opening on the AFM and includes the bump out to cover the screws in the AFM as seen in the photos. My hope was that by keeping the cross sectional area constant (and the same as the area of the opening of the AFM), the flow would be less restricted and more laminar. I also did the math on a big cone filter that has approximately the same surface area as the stock "S" air box filter to hopefully remove any restriction there.I had the flange printed in (supposedly) high strength nylon from a site online.
TL,DR: I made this intake flange and the car runs much better now.
I want to improve the crankcase ventilation and need to drill an oil cap to put a barb fitting in it. It'd be easier and cleaner to drill a flat cap than the original unit with its ear in the middle.
I recently bought myself a 3d printer kit and have been cranking out random prints as fast as it will go. I've not learned too much about 3d modeling yet and so far have only modified other peoples creations. Hopefully in time I'll learn to make my own parts but for now I'm forced to mostly rely on others
I'm interested in printing some sun roof gears because I know a few people with partially or completely stripped gears
Does anyone where I can find a model for this? I saw a few people have made themselves gears but I didn't see any files.
If you search this thread, you can see where some were made back in about 2016...I think that KVDR did them. Don't know how they turned out. He may still have the STL files..I don't know if the ones pictured are the ones you need. If not, PM him and he'll help. He's helped me on other projects too...not 944 related. Hope this helps some..

To print, you'll need to enable support, and I would recommend a reasonable wall thickness and infill. The gear mesh is close, but I wouldn't call it perfect (close enough for FDM at any rate). That being said, I've been using the set in there since 2016(?) or so. I did them in ABS, and given how hot it gets in there during the summer, I'd recommend filaments with a higher print temperature (ABS, Nylon, etc...). I'd wager PLA would get mushy enough to cause issues.
