Not for the 944NA...
The NA-Tune is $500'ish. (LR is current outlet for it, and I'm not 100% sure on pricing)
This ECU is 3-400$.

So around $900 for the conversion to MAF with this new ECU.

Yep. I've discussed some of the issues with MAF conversion on the 944NA before. Knowing the curves is not even half the battle...

$400 for a BRAND NEW ECU is a f***ing smoking killer once-in-a-lifetime opportunity sweet deal.
Great that there are 944 people with this capability.

I'd put down a deposit today for my 84.

I would also need a lot of community support with my current products to justify the investment of time and resources. For perspective, this new DME design I am offering was started way back in 2011 and I didn't have a production ready unit until 2013.

awesome!

what kind of support would you require?
a gofundme ?

Bolth the cruise computer and Climate Control Unit are on my project backlog, although pretty far down. DME's are my core product and intend to stay focused on that for a while. However, I might take a break and engineer up a new door lock controller and add in a Bluetooth module. I really want to be able to lock/unlock my 951 from an app on my smartphone.

Dear Josh: Thanks for the head's up on the pricing...were you ever able to upgrade the early 944's DME? Seems that you were "into" this last time I heard...or would I still have to upgrade to the later DME and wiring to get the upgrade? Thanks.

Tiger, you don't need any different wiring. Just a late AFM (or preferably, MAF kit ) to convert to a late DME.

Now that would be a nice update. Add in a remote start module and window control and I'm all in.

How about a "smart key" with push button starter?

How about a Flux Capacitor and Mr. Fusion Home Energy Reactor?

There are keyless entry systems available with such features for a very reasonable money. Pushing button once turns on ignition, pushing 2nd time starts the car.
And you have the fob in the pocket.

Perhaps also supporting a Start/Stop button!

P.S.

For example, the Digital Guard Dawg system. I am very happy with it but would be nice to have the option to forgo the fob and use the iPhone instead.
