Default 924 Engine code (check if it is original)

Hello,

maybe anyone could suggest how to indentify whether my car's engine is original one. All I know, is the year of the car (03 1980) and the engine number (XK 032 467), also VIN. Maybe there is some kind of relation between them or the only possible way to use statistics of car production by the each year?

The only way to know for sure is to order a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) from Porsche. It should list the VIN, the engine code (stamped on the block), and the trans code (stamped or cast onto the trans depending on which version).
