Default Side Skirts

Will the side skirts on a turbo fit on the NA?

Yes, if all the attachment studs are still on your na, they tend to break off over time. If some are missing you can always tack in new ones.

Thanks Mike...are the attachment studs plastic and can be glued back on or metal studs that need to be tack welded back on?

They are all coarse threaded metal studs, about an inch long. Factory used plastic self-threading nuts to attach the skirts to the metal studs but the studs are welded to the body. If you look under your na along the bottom of the sill/floorpan area you will see them. If you look in the parts catalogue you will see the nuts you need to attach the skirts.

Typically the early (pre-85.5) cars won't have the studs - they came with the change-over in 85.5.

Also, if you can't find/order the self-threading nuts, a trip to the hardware store or Granger will fix you up. I can't recall the size needed, but my local Lowes had them in the little specialty parts drawers in Aisle 13 (the bolt/hardware aisle).

I think the jackpoint on the Turbo/S2's is deeper/lower to compensate for the rocker extension.

In other words, rockers may interfere with a jack unless you add another block or something.

When I installed my side skirts, I ended up getting nuts from my local RC hobby store. I had to drill them out a little bit but they were cheap, easy and they have held on for about a decade or so.

I don't remember exactly what I got but they were similar to these.

BB.
