Where are you going to place that under a 951 with the fiberglass trays and aluminum belly pan?
On the frame rail. But i think it would be too tall to fit with the jacks. So ill try and fab something with square tubing do something similar but more compact.

This I never knew was an option. If those middle pads adjust up high enough, it might work so the bar clears. Neat
944's are so easy to jack up and support that I don't see the point in using a Quickjack. I wouldn't buy one if I just had a 944. The offset lift points on a 944 makes jack stands and a traditional jack so much easier. I have a 5000SLX and never use it on my 951. I use the Quickjack all the time on my 911's and Ferrari since the jacking points are more difficult to deal with.
Black Turbo: I see from your pics that there is a grey colored panel close to and "bolted"? to the inside frame rail, from the rocker panel? My '83 does not have this panel..what is it and what is it's function?TIA..

Yes, I see the early control arms..The panel I am speaking of is right behind the rear pivot point for the control arm. Just inboard of the fuel? lines...TIA.

I believe these were available for the 951, S2 and 968. An aero panel for under the car. Not available on N/As I think. Either that or previous owner took them off.
Whenever I'm in Europe, I am amazed at everyone's "pit"--the perfect diy setup for working under the car.
Not sure about you USA folks, but for some reason, pits are illegal up here.
I'm in California. I don't know if they're illegal per se, as the oil changer shops have them, but more likely insurance/building code issues for residential addresses. On top of that the cost of having that built would likely surpass the cost of a decent lift.
Homes in California don't even have basements, which I really wish they did. As I understand it it's because of earthquake-impacted building code requirements.
