I was on a Porsche dealer website (no affiliation) and I came across what the they called Porsche "Original" mats for the 928. I had been planning to order the top of the line Lloyd mats that I have always used in prior p-cars but now I'm wondering if anyone has seen the "factory original" mats in person and if anyone has input on the comparison?
I had thought the Lloyd had the exclusive
It's been my preference to stay "stock" as my car is rather unmolested (NO #MeToo... haha) but I don't want go backward on quality.
I typically buy the black Lloyd mats with PORSCHE in red letters. My interior is black.
Any input?

I would skip those mats and put in a set of real Coco mats I put a set into my 88 5 speed they looked great with the new carpet. google cocomats.com

I would skip both of those mats and get a set of real Coco mats.
These are rubber backed and provide a good deal of noise dampening quite heavy and colorfast, the best you can get.

Ok guys, good advice on the coco mats. I will give it some more thought. Where can I buy them on-line?

Stan, how do you keep the seats in that car so deep black? Have they been re-covered or re-dyed? I'm looking to get mine that dark.

Just to give you an idea of quality these are 18 mos old with about 6k miles. Now I have Linen carpet so I am very careful.




the other shot is from my challenger and they have 25k miles and 4 years of daily driver usage.

Sharknose: my $.02, if you can get factory 928 mats in the right color, buy a set and tuck them away for a later day. They're NLA in many colors. The quality is crap and they wouldn't hold up long with daily driving - but nice to have when you want the factory look for car shows, staging the car for sale, etc.

I had Coco mats in every VW bug and bus I owned and they last forever. Living at the beach they were the best for sand would sift thru...
I have had Lloyds mats in my last few 928's and they never fit correctly, always a bit big. Go for Coco mats.

I am in the process of planning my interior restoration - to those who have used CocoMats...

Do they snap in to the factory snaps to hold them in place? Nosnow it looks like you have an extra set of grommet holes in the wrong place? (I believe). I can't tell on anyone else's photos if they are there or not. Just wanted to make sure they will attach to the proper spot where the factory metal snaps are located. The quality looks great and they certainly look like they wear really good.

Coco mats in the 928 do not have holes for the floor pins,
the bottom of the mat has little rubber fingers that bite into the carpet and it stays where you put it,
plus its a very heavyweight floormat

no snaps in the 928 they fit snug and have the rubber fingers. The second picture is of the set I have in my 14 Dodge Challenger which does have grommet hold downs.

The Porsche mats in question are not meant to replace the existing carpet, but go on top. They are of excellent quality, and have an attachment mechanism that bolts into the seat rails.
I have them in classic grey, and the color match is wonderful. Unlike the Lloyd mats I had before, the Porsche mats don't move a millimeter, thanks to the way they are attached. In my opinion, they were worth every penny.
