The 997 seats are not nearly as comfortable as the stock 928 seats. I would not make that switch.

Those pics are from my old car. The Ladybug is no longer with us anymore but the seats live on somewhere in TX. I enjoyed those seats, I liked how they held me. But they were a bit tall and prevented full forward folding because they would bump the headliner, so no way to use the rear seats. Tony didn't have that problem in his 2-seater. They might be ideal for a non-sunroof car with a little more head room.

Could you get partial front seat movement? So maybe kids can be in the back? How about rear leg room?
I would think the full power ones with 12-18 way adjustments. would allow the seats to me lowered bit more. (Enough to get rear seat access)

All 928 seats are now really old, most require full restorations— including the foam underneath to remove the funk of 30+ years. Nearly new 997 can be had for under $600, its a no brainer.

I agree, nothing like classic 928 seats in great condition. But they do however look better than 90% of the 928 seats that have been redone, save for Paul’s work of course.

If they sacrifice even 1/4" if headroom it's a no-go for a lot of us.
Also, your 90% tally on the quality of re-done seats is a gross exaggeration. Paul's work is excellent that's true, but people like Rob Budd and other restoration shops regularly turn out work better than original.

Rob’s work is pretty good, some of his seats look a bit puffy—but good. I’m picky I know. Till I find nice set of original sport bolstered 928 seats, the 997 seats look like a great value for $500

dunno about 928s but towards the end of the run of 968 they started using 986/996 seats, they are a bolt-in.
since 928 and 944/968 seats interchange, therefore 996/986 seats should fit in 928, maybe have to play with rails a little.
believe 996 and 997 use same seats.

That's for sure. Agree, no brainer on that. BTW, my original comment above did not go to looks - the 997 seats look great, and as Porsche seats, they are very good. It's just that the 928 seats are the best I've ever sat in, especially the early types, which have excellent bolsters and keep you in without sliding around. The later 928 sport seats of course are excellent, but you'll not find them for $500 pair.

I literally just drove from TX to FL yesterday and found my 997 seats pretty comfortable for my 5'10", 185lbs frame. Of course, the range of movement/settings of the 997 seats is not the same as the original 928's.
