Twice I have scraped my front oil cooler. that's a brilliant design, hanging below the radiator. lol
fortunately, only very minor, repairable damage, and back on the road.

the other day I rolled into a parking curb, and got lucky. thinking its time to stop the denial and install a set of protection
plates.

would like to hear from anyone that has them on their car, and any other thoughts/input.

are there many styles/types/designs to choose from?

I have ones specifically made for late 928's with a front oil cooler and undertray.

With mine, about the only thing that can damage your "low hung" pieces is something you run over dead center.

Like everything I make, these were "torture tested" (these were tested for over a yesr, in multiple vehicles) *before anyone could buy a set.

Guaranteed to work better than anything else out there.

Having seen and installed Gregs, I can vouch for his. One thing he doesn't mention is they fit like you'd want them to also.

I have the 928MS ones and they work great. Its nice when you hear that sound and feel that bump that you know nothing is damaged and its just the protection plates doing their job. My front bumper isn't stock though, so we had to cut a couple slits in it.

Be careful working under the car though - the edges get sharp after a few impacts.

So its a free-for-all, then. Anybody can make anything anybody else is making. OK. Noted.
I just don't want to hear it in the future should I make a product already in production elsewhere.

I cant compare our plates to Greg's as I have no information about alloy, width of material, etc.
What I can say is our plates have been out there on both early and late cars for at least 10 years now. They bolt to the flat side of the stock factory over-rider, and fit perfectly.

BTW: there is a curved side and a flat side to the stock over-rider. If you mount our protection plates on the flat side as our instructions indicate, they fit with no issues at all.

The set of 928 MS skid plates we fitted to Jim's GTS were at best "adequate" but that was after a lot of modification to make them fit.

I am glad we have product developers in the 928 community that not only support the community but are willing to share their ideas with others to the benefit of the community.

Greg's products are "designed" (as opposed to thrown together) bench tested and trial fitted to ensure the end customer has complete satisfaction out of the box.
I am a proud re-seller of GB products and many other products from designers within the 928 community.

Skid plates are fantastic. They saved my 928 on a daily, and I mean daily basis on the wonderfully beveled CA roads. I'd take them off and weld a few beads every year to build them back up.

I've got a set of the GB plates. I've yet to install them. I've only had a few times over the years where I wished I had something there after an impact. Luckily I have not damaged anything. With 3 piece wheels I'm always scanning the road however I do look forward to piece of mind after putting them on. Especially with my new driveway.

That was your idea of "trying to work with me"? I am happy to not sell to you and Sean for this reason. I do not respond well to attempts at extortion.

Pure BS. The stock part has ONE SIDE that is flat, and our protection plate fits simply on that side. If you spent any time at all "modifying" them it tells me you were attempting to mount them on the wrong side. Just look at this picture - pretty hard to get that wrong, wouldn't you say? But, I know your scheme. All you have to do (and usually do) is cast doubts - they don't even have to be true - and its enough to drive sales away.
