Buy a PO Box in Wisconsin, apply for a "Hobbyist Plate" - not kidding. Almost anything with more than two wheels and an engine can get pushed through. IIRC Carl had a hobbyist plate on his race car.

Got one in the werks...
I got one in the werks....Its an OT Jaguar XJ6 coupe at 3650lbs with a 750hp Turbo LS. Presently is has a 500hp SBC thats fun...but an LS will make more power with more smoothness. Personally I wouldn't do this to a 928. They are too much of a cohesive package. Jaguar on the other hand no cohesion needs to be totally redone.

The racer (at the moment) is 2900 lbs X 1020 HP for a ratio of 2.8:1 I expect my transmission to break next. But certainly not street legal.

Not quite <5 but at 6.2 lbs / HP is my supercharged RUF 997 C2S - 500 HP at 3,100 lbs. Can't imagine needing anything that goes or accelerates faster than it does. It is the only car I own that I don't feel like I'd like more HP.

Of course your race car takes all of those terms to a whole different level, but I have Bluetooth, Focal stereo sound, & A/C in mine
For the 928 Content....

My daily driven Lexus IS300 fits into that category with making right around 700whp and weighing in at 3275 lbs. It's a very fun car that always felt fast but never knew just how fast until one day I managed a hwy run with a newer Suzuki gsxr1000 that was running nitrous. I ended up putting half a car on him from 60-160, which at the time I didn't know was running the no2. I was happy to simply beat a liter bike! It wasn't until a few days later I found out he was on the bottle when I truly realized just how fast it is..... and in the world of 2jz motors, 700hp is really childs play. BTW, I'm here because I'll be swapping a similar hp 2JZ setup into my 84 928..... if the auto can take it. Pic of my Lexus for fun..

Not a "super car" but my '17 challenger hellcat is 707hp stock. It's been tweaked a little so I'm probly close to 750hp. My best 0-60 is 3.1 seconds, which is stupid fast. Top-end is 202 mph.
