Next best thing to a lift.
You lift one side of the car at a time, instead of each corner.
The bars also give a couple extra inches of height.

The GIF on his site is a bit sped up, but the ease of the process is shown clearly.

To add:

DeOxit, penetrating oil, anti-seize.

10mm & 13mm of various configurations (wrenches - short, medium & long, gear wrenches, deep & shallow sockets, ect). Torque wrench (big & small), lately my Dewalt impact driver - One of those *how did I live without it" kind of things.

PET, WSM, Dwayne's Garage, and a zillion or more write ups on here.

Profanity and patience. The fact that I do my major projects during winter storage time means that I'm not under much time pressure to get something done. So I can walk away any time I get frustrated. Which is good, because time pressure & frustration are huge factors in stupid mistakes & breaking stuff.

I think I would be handicapped without the lift. I feel too old to be crawling under cars anymore.

I bought a set of Snap on 1/4 inch metric sockets and ratchet. Use it for an amazing amount of stuff, it's very small, has a very tight angle on the ratchet (allowing one to turn it a tiny bit at a time) and does not flex or strip bolts.

My go-to tool.

I won't disagree that the Snap On stuff is excellent.

But I asked the rep how much one of those sets cost the last time I saw him.

$200.
Needless to say, I don't have one.
