An absolute blast from start to finish. 1100 miles on the way to SD at triple digits plus and used nearly a gallon of oil - yes GTS cars burn oil when driven hard. Only 2 quarts on the way back.
Harvey - what a fantastic event and thanks to you for taking the time and energy to make it very special.
I blew a top rad hose on Friday which curtailed my driving pleasure for 24 hours. Luckily Zane arrived with a rental so we could still see the sights even though we could not keep up with the groups.
My family have fallen in love with SD and we are already planning a trip back.
I had a very SENIOR moment and wish I had a picture to show you. While filling up with gas I was approached by several peeps to look at and talk about the GTS. I totally forgot the gas hose and drove away from the pump with it attached. 8>(!!!!!!!!
Lucky for me the system expects that and the magnetic quick release joint did its job. Peeps were so nice and the manager said it happens up to 20 times a day. I think they were just trying to make me feel better.
Great driving with "drift king" and "alkada" - low flying at its best.
Badlands and the Rushmore were the best for me and of course the obligatory stop at the "Trump" shop for suitable souvenirs.
Thanks again Harvey and your helpers.
Great seeing old and new friends and putting faces to names.

This trip was amazing. Simply amazing in every way. The only thing that could have made it better was to have my car and been able to join in on the drives and hang with the crowd more. I really missed that aspect and from looking at the pics it makes it more enviable. But since Martin/Stacey and I were in a new Ribicon, what better way to spend the past 5 days than hitting trails, driving our own slow pace and taking in such wonderful scenery. We got back late each day, left not quite as early as the 928 guys but we had a blast and will be back in the area we hope next year. We took a ton (hours) of video of the trails and drives. Here's a small sampling out of the hundreds of pics.
We got in on Wed and started on some rough jeep trails and then drove by some of the sights.
Found a really nice overlook in a place we were not supposed to be. We were heading down to the Caves in the south part of the Black hills and told Martin to take a left at some point and ended up taking a dirt road towards the south west end of the Badlands as the 928 crew went to the designated areas. On that road we came up on a sign saying the road was closed but no one manning the check point at the closed part and continued on. It was the Indian res that the white man was not allowed on. Ooops. Found this over look and the only place I have been that was more glorious was the Grand Canyon. Pics can not relate how this was to look at.
Then we turned south again and went over a mesa in the middle of the badlands, apparently another place we were not supposed to be and as we exited the place there was a check point with a ton of cars trying to get in and being turned around and here was a jeep from Texas waving as we passed the check point. Some very dirty looks from the 'guards' as we did so.
Then we headed back to civilization and stopped by the Mammoth Site.
Ended up doing a fair bit of hiking also. Fire Tower #14.
Went to Deadwood during the day and walked around for a couple hours and found a shirt for Roger, a great cigar shop and hung out there for an hour or so.
Saw lots of cows and a few Tatanka.
Found another trail to Concrete Overlook and that was great. The back trail down was a true 4x4 trail that was rough as anything we'd been on.
Left real early (5:30) on Sunday and headed out to Devils Tower. Amazing place. Hiked around the entire thing looking for that alien base but it's gone.
Headed South from there through Wyoming and north central Colorado and stopped in Fraiser/Winter Park and stayed at an off the trail bed and breakfast.
Then we headed in to the front range and drove a few mountain passes. Guenella, Loveland and one I forget already.
Then we headed out of Colorado mid day Monday and ended up getting in to some storms in Colorado/New Mexico and made it home this morning around 1:30am. 2700 miles of absolute fun.

As others have said, we had a great time seeing an amazing part of the country. Great job Harvey. Definitely some of the best roads for a shark to devour. Triple digit was fun till I got complacent and ran right up on a trooper. Only a cash ticket with a seatbelt discount.
Got a late start Friday afternoon with working a/c!
Scotty, warp factor 8
Never seen so many options.

Saturday night a few of us jumped in to the jeep and left the city so we could see the comet. That was a fun time. Jeff got some great shots from his phone.

Thanks Harvey and all those working behind the scenes for hosting this event! It really was flawless and it takes a lot of effort to pull that off. The location and timing was perfect--a much needed break from COVID-19 lock-down. And, thanks to all those who donated door prizes!
And now the picture dump...
This was the hotel for the event. Don't let the outside fool you--the inside was super nice:
Pictures just can't capture the awesomeness
Heart warming to see buffalo on the plains:
The rare and elusive prairie dog. Said no one ever.
This is the pronghorn antelope. He was keeping pace with us at 32 mph for over 2 miles. But, they can reach speeds of over 60 mph. This was on the Badlands loop road.

And more...
Hans had the BEST door prizes ever!
A lot of bugs gave their lives for this event. Just say'n.
My wife asked "What does data55 mean?"
Friday evening for the first round of prizes.
Exactly like a F1 pre-race driver's meeting. Harvey briefing us on the trip to Mt. Rushmore.
Yes, those are buffalo at the base of Devil's Tower.
This monster saltwater crock at Reptile Gardens.

The old adage applies here: No good deed goes unpunished!!
I was attempting to tell Mark how good the wider wheels looked on his car front and back. He looked dumbfounded when I was explaining the normal difference between the front and rear Club Sport wheels.
Of course, after arriving back from Deadwood on the party bus after midnight, Mark just had to look to see what I was talking about.
Mark, even if they were Ford Pinto wheels, they still look good. LOL
Matter of fact, Mark's car looks really great overall.

Back home safe and sound. I will need to get #11 off the rack before I get into the GT and see what ultimately happened. I’m hoping it is installer error on my part so that nothing will need to be modified to make sure it doesn’t happen again.
Just an outstanding trip overall! Even with the car trouble the wife and I had an outstanding time. The location and hospitality were top notch. Harvey, Barb, and Cameron went way above and beyond in helping us out. Harvey immediately came to our rescue and then had his son Cameron meet us up in the mountains with a trailer to load up the car. Once we got it loaded, Barb took us to another town that was the only place around that had a truck and trailer for us to rent. Worked out perfectly.
Harvey, this was a top-notch event that you did an outstanding job on. We appreciate everything you did. Thanks again!!
