Just an outstanding trip overall! Even with the car trouble the wife and I had an outstanding time. The location and hospitality were top notch. Harvey, Barb, and Cameron went way above and beyond in helping us out. Harvey immediately came to our rescue and then had his son Cameron meet us up in the mountains with a trailer to load up the car. Once we got it loaded, Barb took us to another town that was the only place around that had a truck and trailer for us to rent. Worked out perfectly.

Harvey, this was a top-notch event that you did an outstanding job on. We appreciate everything you did. Thanks again!!

Brian
Brian, This is why when I plan an event I try to make sure all things are covered (like having a truck and trailer on stand by) Plan for the worst and if things dont happen fine, if they do you have a way to deal with them. I am very happy to hear you and Lisa made it back safely.

PM me your email as Barb wants to connect with Lisa.

Harvey

That is a beautiful car Mark, even if the wheels are suspect : )
Great getting to know you two. The trip home was eventful. had to back-track a bit to miss a storm with baseball size hail east of Denver

I saw that storm coming back into Denver off to the east, no joke with that! Mark, it was great meeting you and Deb and I can sleep soundly tonight with the knowledge your CS wheels are legit. All in all I had a great time meeting folks from the region and look forward to attending some events nearby, or at least a few days drive, in the future. Darien, I plan on heading to Texas soon! Great guys and gals, very happy to have met y'all! South Dakota is a beautiful state.

Mark, I hate to tell you this, but I'm afraid you have been duped. Your wheels were probably made in China or somewhere like that. You can always tell things like that from the smallest tells: In your case, on all your wheels, the part numbers were all made upside down. Just look at the pictures you attached. Every part number is upside down. See? It takes a real 928 guy to notice stuff like that. That said, I can save you from a life of misery by taking those Chinese made Club Sports off your hands. Heck, I'll even take the tires also so that you won't be reminded of this fiasco. I know. I know. It's okay, I don't mind. I mean, what are friends for?
I just can't bear to have you running around with those wheels on your very nice GT.

It really was great meeting you. I look forward to our next encounter. Third Coast November 6-8?

Glad you made it, Scott! You are probably a little tarred after your long drive.
Looking forward to our next travels together.

I'm rolling John! If it weren't for guys like you on this forum I truly would be lost! I would not have noticed the upside down part numbers and knew what they meant. I appreciate your kind offer and keen eye. I'll probably just throw them up on Craigslist so you don't have to worry about shipping. Thanks for your offer though.

If it weren't for Sharks In The Badlands we wouldn't be having all this fun. Take care!

Default Still rolling....

Current coordinates are Lincoln, NE. The back roads in Nebraska are bad a$$.

Freshly paved and supportive of nearly triple digit speeds (allegedly)

Once in A lifetime road trip! I am heading for Blue Ridge Parkway.... May make it a Shark in the Mountains because I love Banner Elk.

Here are current coordinate pics..

.... are you sure it wasn't your crank pulley? Not like I am talking from experience or anything... but sometimes that belt doesn't work if the pulley isn't attached to the engine.

Sorry, Jeff, to hear about your belt failure so close to home. It was great to have you here at my place on your way to the Badlands, and to get to caravan with you and the others on at least two of the fun runs, and further to socialize with you over a few beers at the "fireside" set up by Harvey at the Hotel parking lot. I am dismayed at even the few 928 failures that have shown up here with the cars that participated; but I suppose that kind of result can be expected with cars as old as all of ours. Your situation does re-confirm for me that one should change all the belts with each timing belt and water pump change. I think I did that with the last two timing belt changes I have made, but didn't actually have it on the checklist for the next one I am going to do. Thanks for that. I hope you have made it home with whatever help you needed. Great to see you again!
