Why don't we just find a set of older timing belt covers and try them? Plenty of donors around DFW.

I'm pretty sure I have some sitting in a box if you want to try them out. Off an 82 or 83...can't be sure which.

Not sure if it will help, but I took this quick pic on the way out this morning.
Let me know if there are different measurements--I will be back to the garage later today, or if you want to arrange to pic them up and measure yourself this weekend.

Neither side will fit. Totally different attachments.

You're best off building a set of covers to cap off the holes.
