Default Green Wire - Alternative for $69.99

Exact replica of the original Bosch Green Wire which is currently only available via Porsche at my price of $137.95.

Alternative green wire is $69.99 and available on my Web Site - did I really say that 8>).

FINALLY.

Another well done old chap. At the risk of putting Roger in a tight spot, every green wire car should have this done. They are all failing, failed or will fail.

At $150, tax and shipping, most folks have been nurturing their green wire for years. $75 to your door and no more worries is a lot more palatable.

BTW, the 911 folks of similar vintage have the same wire, just a lot shorter. Roger even beat the 911 ign wire market price.

It's been such an issue I know Kroon over in the Netherlands started making them for all the classic cars with green wires. The only real difference is their length.

Great price on yours Roger! As always, keeping the parts prices as palatable as possible

Default Wire and wiring

Kroon willl build harnesses for the 944-968 cars IF they have orders for a minimum of 50 units. No telling what they would cost…BUT it is an option 😀

Recently within the last two years the URO brand green wire had a quantity made that had the wires too long for the distributor end,
and they also had a black spacer fitted to this end that had to be clipped off , so it would fit the 928 distributor.

So what would happen is that this black spacer was cut off then the wire connector would then be installed onto the distributor,
since the spacer was now gone the wires inside this connector were now going to be too long once the connector is seated,
the wires inside the connector would be forced to touch each other.
If it didnt happen instantly it would occur over time where these wires would short together and the signal would stop the engine from running.

Your hint that the distributor connector has this issue is that,
you will have to force the connector into the distributor so the metal lock plate will seat,

NOTE the Bosch and URO wires look almost identical and have no markings to point out the Bosch part.
except you will notice the wires look to be a bit longer inside the white connector on the URO wire.

NOTE this can also break the signal ring that the connector is plugging into, thus a new signal ring will be required.

NOTE your not going to be able to see these wires touching as they will now be inside the distributor body.
However if you remove the green wire connector from the distributor and suspect this issue you should see distinct kinks in the wires as they run through this white /clear connector.

So far I have returned 4 of these failed URO green wires and diagnosed a few more over the phone.

Needless to say the Bosch green wire fits perfectly,
NOTE Bosch green wire this also has a black spacer that has to be trimmed off to fit the 928 distributor.

When it comes to electrical parts I would suggest that you spend the few extra dollars on the real Bosch parts to prevent electrical failures.

I stopped selling the URO green wire about 3 to 4 years ago. As Mr. Merlin said it did not fit correctly
I only sell the Bosch original.

As good as the Chinese are at copying other people's work, you wouldn't think that making a proper copy would be that tough.
