Best and worst color for a 928

I believe it is called Soul Red for Mazda. Every time I see this color I can’t help but think how amazing it would look on a 928. It is quite striking out in the daylight.

I have really been impressed that Porsche could offer such a wide array of colors on a car with relatively low production numbers. There are so many truly wonderful ones. I really like my 81's Chiffon White and get lots of favorable comments on it from other 928 owners and the general public. So I offer it up for your consideration, but certainly cannot recommend it over any other color..
I do like black as a color, but the one black car I owned taught me they are really difficult to keep looking clean and shiny. White and silver cars have been my easiest to keep looking good..I suspect the light metallic blues are the same.

Van,
I really liked the light blue metallic on my old 81:
but the Iris blue was my back up color.

Interesting first world question...
So many fantastic colors! I am particularly in love with the silvers, blues and of course - black. The reason Porsche built and sold so many black cars is that they look so awesome when all polished up and ready for show.
I have only seen one 928 that I thought was actually painted an UGLY COLOR. I believe it was ??????? ????? which translates to puke beige. (name withheld to protect me from disgruntled owners of cars actually painted this color) The car looks so bad it has only 6,000 miles on it after 32 years because no one wants to be seen in it!
I'm not telling anyone where it is because I'm trying to buy it!
And oh yeah I liked this one... My old Prussian Blue 85...
Silver/Clearcoat (there were reportedly only two GT's from the factory). Drab - Grey sky day...
Clear sunny late in the day - surrounding colors make it (Silver) shift big time...
Black? Love the reflections and curves that black reveals...
Love Guards Red as well...
So - are there any bad colors?
With such an awesome car... Can it really look BAD?

^^^. What is “silver clear coat” ? A coded paint color or is it a paint process.?
my car is silver metallic and I’m planning on repainting it the same color...although I have seen a few newer silver Lexus’s where the clear coat over the silver actually makes the car look wet..such a deep gloss and would look great on 928

Burning Brakes
I’m partial to purple. Here’s our Viola Metallic ‘95 GTS. Paint to sample color that looks great in the sunlight and almost black in the shade.
Overall I think they look amazing in any color (even beige)!

My vote is for Kiln Red. Would look great with your two-tone tan/brown interior, and it's period correct.
Kiln red over brown leather is a bucket list 928 for me. With black-brown pasha would be even better, but would be super hard to find.

Three Wheelin'
Code 811 (Kiln Red) is a Glasurit 55-line color only. I have seen it attempted by virtually every other paint manufacturer, including the 90-line variant. Easily my favorite 928 color.. guess that may have been obvious.
That said, I probably wouldn't go with Kiln Red if I already owned a Garnet Red car and the plan was for keeping them both.
