Default What to do with these two 928’s?

Hello all,
it’s been a long while since I have been on here. And I need some advise. I have gotten busy over the last five years and had my two 928’s sit at Gulf Performance with Vinnie. I went by from time to time and we discussed how he will rebuild the track car and what to do with the S4.
well, it never happened and I got really sad news a few weeks ago that Vinnie had passed away. That was some really sad news, he was a really great guy. But now the cars which are both not running have to move. I have zero time and no place to put them.
1981 928 Euro S manual with GT gearbox Koni Springs and shocks. It has been sitting outside for about 6 years and it really shows, but that motor and gearbox are hard to find.
1991 928 S4 120k ish miles and also sat outside for long. Motor had been gone through, intake all redone. But paint is shot and it was used as a parts mike in the shop. I’m not sure what is missing exactly. Rear lights are out and the interior looks half torn apart.
I would love to just keep them until I have time, but that would be a really bad investment, storage is expensive here in SoFlo. So, anyone has any ideas? I don’t want to list on eBay, I will get a lot of questions. Someone looking for a track car project?
i don’t want to just send them to the junk yard.
thanks, Seb

You could donate them to charity and take the tax deduction and be done with it already!

True, but I doubt that Mark would pay enough to cover shipping them across the country.

Sitting outside in the Florida sun for that long would make me very unwilling to accept anything that 'was done' before. I'd be very worried about old coolant in the blocks.

These are basket case parts cars.

There are some decent parts on them. But that's about it.

Sorry.

I bet the white one could be made to drive. No it won't be a show car, but it could be a fun driver.

Sorry to hear about Vinnie - a really nice guy. Sorry I can't offer any suggestions for your two cars, I hope you find an option that works out acceptable to you.

Mark (928 intl) is pretty good at shipping cars, so I would contact him before junking them. Personally, before that, I would do ebay. Then they have a good chance of rescue. The big bit of work would be to find out more about their condition, but just because the more you know the better price you can get. If you just put them up on ebay with no more data than you have shown here and say 'this is all I know' they will still sell if the price is low enough. Best would be someone here performs a rescue.

Sorry to hear about Vinnie. It looks like there are some other cars there looking for homes. Plenty of Florida 928ers should be interested in this collection of parts cars. If I were there I would pounce on that S4 for all the spare goodies!

Somebody in FL please step up and save these from the crusher... Please!

I’m interested in the race car project. I live one state away (in Georgia) and it wouldn’t be an issue picking up the car.

I'm a brand new member and a Central Florida 928 enthusiast with a 79 OB automatic as my current project. I'd be very interested in the White 91. I wouldn't be using for parts, but to bring it back to life. Since I just became a member, I'm not sure if I can PM yet.....

Sorry.
I once bought a wrecked GTS out of Italy so you never know.
