Default WTB 85+ 5-speed trans with LSD

Hey all,

The Coke car's trans had a catastrophic failure this past fall. Finally dug into it this past weekend and well... I need a new one. Will post gory details in the Coke car thread. If you know of a 85+ 5-speed with LSD that is available, please let me know. I don't have the time to surf here much anymore, so best if you email me directly: andrewmolson "at" yahoo.com . Call/Text also works: 734- eight three seven - 7908

Thanks.

Have you cosidered the Corvette trans/torque tube option since it's a race car. C5 Z06 (and I think Carl is also now using the C6 Z06 that shifts even better). Much tougher synchros and can be shifted from gear to gear faster. Put in Greg Browns new clutch with one of those trans (that are LSD by default) and you'll have quite a package, though not a cheap one.

Non Porsche transmission bumps the OP out of any PCA racing.

I've got 10-15 of the '85/'86 transmissions stacked up as cores to be rebuilt. I could rebuild you one, with all new consumable parts (including my carbon fiber synchros). It would take several months for me to even think about, however.
I do still have a brand new '85/'86 transmission without a limited slip that I could rebuild and install a limited slip into. Again, not quickly....my "backlog" of work is insane.
