Oh, Dwayne, my good buddy. This is a terrible way to hear from you. It will be found, hopefully fully intact.

THANKS everyone for the support and for spreading the word. This is a GREAT community!
To answer the question above, car was driven away using one of its keys (which was hidden away). Since car and hidden key are both missing, the car is mobile.

Very sorry to hear. This is not a model to be stolen by joyriders, or by a fluke event of bad luck. I would opine that someone wanted the bits for a 928, and there was a specific target group in mind. I hope I'm wrong, but it's quite likely that the car is no longer in the US, and no longer in one piece. Tragic, as one who has lusted for a Cassisrot for many years. Would love to be wrong, and it's found intact in some back alley, but doesn't seem likely.

Start with looking at people you know, who know of your car, and if they have had recent discussions about it with others. Not exactly an 'inside job'(you would never be involved), but someone nearby, whom you likely know as an acquaintance knows something.

Dwayne,

Car driven away using a hidden key is the clue that the person has been to your garage before, and had knowledge of your absence and where you placed the key. Should be ample fingerprint traces. This is not a coincidence.

As a side note to your local law enforcement, they can pull data records from the mobile towers of who was in your vicinity in the days of question (would require a Lawful Intercept subpoena to the operators). With such a small population size, zeroing in would be super easy.

Best of luck buddy. Hope they find it quick.

That completely sucks. I'm on the wrong coast but will keep an eye out and send positive mental vibes.

Second the notion that the perp was someone familiar or a 'friend' of someone familiar.

Dwayne I'm so sorry to hear about this and I will keep my eye peeled even though I am in Colorado now. You helped me a few years ago by lending me a block tap for the oil pressure insert and I will always be indebted to you for your kindness and everything you have done for us DIYers!

So sorry to hear this Dwayne. A very special car among special cars. I've shared across FB and other forums.

Dwayne,
Really Sorry to hear this!
Thought the same thing that Doc said. Could be way off, but Sounds like an inside job. This will be a hard car to “hide”, unlike a white Civic or something..

I'm just a few hours north of you Dwayne and will be on the lookout for your beautiful car if it comes up I5. Crappy news and I echo many who have said it sounds like someone who knew the car and location. Hoping you get positive news soon...

Heard about this on the 993 forum. Really sorry to hear about this as I've always loved 928's as well. I'm in Portland so will keep an eye out up here as well.

...OK but if you see a Cassis S4 in Seattle it could just be me or my wife. We do have a WA state collector plate and a sunroof though.
