Hello All,
The response and support from all of you has been nothing short of eye-watering! THANK YOU!
I've been cautioned by the state police not to share certain information as they are working leads in the ongoing investigation. However, I will contact the trooper working the case and inquire about some of the ideas you all have given. I especially like the one offered by Speedtoys on geolocation. THANKS!
I will share that the 928 was not the only thing taken. My giant mechanics tool roll away cabinet chocked full of mechanics tools and 928 specialty tools (including my Sharktuner from JDS, and the custom tap I had made for the oil pressure sensor threads) was taken along with TVs, DVDs, computer, etc., etc. It was a multi-day total clean out in progress that was interrupted by my neighbor noticing my front gate left open and called the police. A whole lot of other valuables were staged by the doors ready to be packed out. All work apparently done under cover of night. Every box, container and storage medium was thoroughly gone through. That's how the key was found, no one knew where that was in the shop but me. Additionally, I brought the 928 to Oregon on an auto transport trailer and it went directly from the trailer into the shop. It was never driven by me in the state of Oregon - locked down in the shop the entire time it was in Oregon. Other details I will share once the situation is resolved or investigation is concluded. I will keep you updated as things develop.
Thank you all once again for the outstanding show of support!! It gives me hope someone out there will see something and say something.

Wow, this is unsettling... Stealing anything, especially a rare and extra fine 928 is just plain wrong. Any chance a previous owner had a key and used/lost/misplaced it?
I agree that the thieves cell phone will leave tracks like a one legged sea drill! This thief is going to get caught,
You have every one of us hoping that your car is returned unmolested! One thing to consider when it is returned is that the title might get a blemish because of this even if the car is perfect. Your insurance should cover that loss of value... It is usually 10% but policies differ.
On another note: Arlo cameras. I installed an Arlo camera and caught a problem person within days. The information is with the prosecutors office. Again, thieves and stalkers are in the twilight of their freedom!

Dwayne,
Sorry to hear about the mess. Seems like it was a full on clean out kind of a robbery. I wonder about the transport company and crew that brought things in.
Like it was said before Law Enforcement has access to Lawful Intercept. They can dump all the mobiles that were in that location during the suspect time. Easy filter. Easy Zero in. Kind of shooting ducks in a barrel. Once you have the active numbers, you can find out where they are in real time.
Good luck buddy and hope all your belongings are brought back safely.

seeing that they took a bunch of other stuff, I think taking the 928 will be the undoing of them. 1 the car...and 2 the color. Both pretty rare and not like a black mustang that blends in.
keeps us posted with what you can.

sorry to hear about this. I hope you get er back. I would suggest not posting about the police progress (don't want to give the thief a head's up).
I would even state that the police are doing nothing and let the thief move the car thinking no one is watching.

Dwyane,
Very sorry to hear about the theft, but hopefully good news will come shortly.
Would not make anymore announcements until the leads have been run through by LE.
Best,
Constantine

So sorry to hear about the news Dwayne!
my in-laws are in Portland and I’ll make sure they keep an eye for a pinkish 928 up there.
hopefully the car hasn’t made its way onto a shipping container or across the border already.
so sorry, hoi
