UPDATE: RECOVERED! My 87 Cassisrot 928 Stolen - If you see something....
Hello Forum Members,
This is Dwayne of "Dwayne's Garage" and I have some unfortunate news to share. My 1987 Cassisrot 928 was stolen from my shop in Oakridge, OR approximately one week ago (about 2-3 FEB). The state police have entered the vehicle's information in the national stolen car database and there was a possible sighting in Springfield, OR and Bend, OR. I am hopeful that by sharing some information and pictures on this forum, someone might see something and say something. I would dearly like to get it back if anyone on this forum happens to see this unique 928 in their area or hear of parts being sold that match the body/engine/transmission numbers below. If you see something or hear something, please contact me right away via Private Message on this forum or text or phone call at (760) 301-2109.
Our 928's are head turners anyway but this 928 is extra special in its rare color and factory delete sunroof. Additionally, this 928 is fully sorted - no issues or deferred maintenance. Here's some additional identifying information:
At the time it was stolen, it had California Plates: 6EOL363
VIN: WP0JB0927HS860349
OPTION CODES: C02 -
18 - Sport steering wheel with elevated hub
158 - Radio "Monterey" -- 86 "Reno" -- 87
220 - Locking differential
347 - Platinum anodized wheels
418 - Protective side mouldings
490 - Hi-Fi sound system
494 - Amplifier system
900 - Tourist delivery
Engine Code: M2842-81H
Transmission Code: A2812-16H
Paint Code: L80D
Interior Code: YZ
Automatic Transmission, burgundy interior, Carrera III wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport tires.
Thank you for your consideration. Please let me know if you have any questions. THANKS!
Dwayne

Wow, Dwayne this is very disturbing to say the least. Not much chance that this car gets unnoticed ANYWHERE. Hopefully it get recovered quickly and without damage. If I lived in OR, I myself would be out and about looking for you. What a shame.. Good luck and please keep us posted.

Sorry to hear about your loss of such a special car. I hope they find it soon and intact.
As a side note, you state that it was stolen approximately a week ago (2-3 Feb) which indicates a floating date. Were you away when it happened? If so and considering the small size of your town, I immediately assume whoever did it knew you and knew you were away and took advantage of the situation.
This does not happen randomly in a small town. Whoever took it has seen it before, been to your place before and knew you were away.

Ditto the previous recommendation to post this across all the Rennlist forums.
I was reading how a ‘80’s 911 was found thanks to FaceBook, abandoned on a suburban street four miles from where it was stolen, with the keys but sans its radio. FaceBook is an excellent idea as well.
FWIW, I just can’t see someone stealing it to part it out or even to ship it off. Hopefully it will turn up soon.

Drifting
Was the car towed/flatbed-ed, or driven away using its keys?
Very sorry to hear this...
