Since many many years, I always appreciate the month of September.
The cool weather temperature, the morning fog, the leafs slowly changing color...
And since few years of course my trip to Frenzy...
Each year since 2012, the planning of the trip to go to Sterling, VA is something I realy enjoy. I always take a week of vacation the week before to make sure the car is fine, is clean. To look (again!) on Google map for the way to get there...
This year the month of September is not as enjoyable.
I don't know what I'll be doing September 25, 26 and 27 but one thing for sure I'll miss you guys.
I'll miss the camaraderie, the first beer at O'Malley's Thursday night after the nice drive to Sterling.
I'll miss the Friday afternoon at Odds and Ends Detailing washing the car and talking to the great owner that is Darryl , the party in the hotel parking lot party Friday evening-night!
The entire day Saturday. Seeing all thoses beautiful 928s beautifully parked is someting that always make me feel like a little children at Chrismas with all his new toys...
I wish you all a great and safe Frenzy 24 and hope to be there for Frenzy 25.
And don't forget to post a lot of pics every day for all of us who can't be there.
I'll have a beer or two following you guys that weekend!
Enjoy!

Bertrand,
I too will miss seeing you (and everyone else). Your great smile, and enthusiasm is contagious, and I'm very tired of this contagious virus, so I really need your type!! - ha. So happy for all who will be attending, and ask them to be sure to stay safe.
Also, I suggest a few moments of silence on Saturday to remember our long time friend, 928 enthusiast, and Frenzy attendee - Bruce Bade. I'm sure most attendees who knew him will feel as I do - that we were blessed to get to know Bruce in our lives.

RIP, Bruce
Gary, thanks for letting us know about Bruce on this thread. I missed Greg's earlier post about his passing. What a great guy Bruce was. He'll be missed by all who knew him.
And for those who didn't know Bruce, he was very involved in Frenzy and was eager to commit his time in any way that he could. Aside from being a huge help rounding up sponsors and vendors for the events, he organized the Fun Run for years...prior to Jon Pruess stepping up. Jon can attest to how big a task that is.

Well, I wasn't going to be there anyway, but I'm disappointed for all of you that it's a small event because circumstances prevented so many from having the opportunity to attend. Hopefully we can get back to normal next year!

No problem, I was just making a bad joke
I didn't get signed up before they ran out of space, so I won't be at the frenzy this year. My car is running really well and I'm super happy with it. I would love to show it off a little Maybe once things seem to be calming down a bit on the pandemic front we can do a get together for the locals.

So sad to hear about Bruce!
The Fun Run that I polished up and mapped out is about 50% the result of input from Bruce. The BEST part, the sweeping Rectortown Rd that takes us through the little village where a family waits for us to pass every year, was Bruce's suggestion, as was Blue Ridge Mountain Rd past Mt. Weather. He was extraordinarily nice....like on a whole other level of nice. He loved Porsche's and owned many valuable ones, but his favorite wasn't the most expensive. He preferred his S4 to his GTS. He assessed cars on their merits, and spoke softly and thoughtfully about cars and all other things. He was one of our wise elders.
I haven't been following the forum closely for awhile and now teaching online has all my attention (going surprisingly well), and I also am not attending Frenzy this year. Greg dropped by with his son to pickup the PA system. He didn't mention Bruce and the mood was pleasant yet subdued. Difficult times we are living in.
Someone is very interested in my S4 and it probably would have been sold by now if I had time to sell a car. I took if for a nice drive today. It ran beautifully.
Someone will get a nice door prize at Frenzy. I gave Greg an aluminum S4+ front belly pan (928 Intl I think) to include in the raffle.
Have fun in the parking lot and maybe take a moment to think about Bruce.

Well my first frenzy is not to be. Been diligently working on the car, waiting for parts, scratching my head, waiting for parts and finally after getting the intake refresh done with new GB oil baffle, injectors and the works of parts, it won't run...
And no real time to fix it. Will have to be next year but it was a great thought while it lasted. I should have just left it alone and drove it up there as it was...

GO! I went to my first Frenzy in a 944 Turbo. I drove down last year in my Cayenne just to hang out Friday night. If nothing else, seeing the cars will inspire you to get back to work on your own. It always does with me! Plus: The event and the people are just a great, great time.
