IB and the 928 Technical Forum - Statement required please?

I believe that there are people and entities that are playing political correctness in their misplaced "wokeness" here that is unreasonable on the 928 Technical Forum. Forcing the agenda of political correctness into the 928 Technical Forum by banning the expertise of individuals that are contributors on this forum. Any type of censorship by the exclusion of individuals for posts on other sites and forums here. The heavy handedness of banning input of technical assistance providers will have a negative impact for many users here on this forum. Technical expertise is of greater value than any political correctness derived from banning individuals here. Being hip and cool by being "woke" and using political correctness only establishes censorship where it will hurt the majority of members.

Too late. I talk to a variety of knowledgeable 928 owners and every one of them came to the same conclusion. Do not post valuable information on RL. 2 reasons. the 1st being that IB doesn't give 2 craps about us. Its all about clicks and revenue. By posting the information here, we support their business model and this will not change. 2. My personal reason for not posting info on RL anymore is that I was posting info about what I'm actually doing. Then I get ganged up on my "internet engineers" who have never done, or are capable of doing the same thing. The mods let it happen repeatedly. Most of our threads are about people discounting or arguing about who is right. We've lost a good number of people through the years because of this. I moved my info to facebook. No doubt about it facebook doesn't give 2 shakes about me or my project but I can remove people from my group. I plinked one out this weekend in a nanosecond.

I don't do drama or political BS. I just acquired a 928 from my deceased father and I need places, to help with getting it running again. I've purchased parts from Roger Tyson and have used Sean Ratts' knowledge for working on my 1983 928S. I only come to Rennlist for technical help, not BS drama or politics in other forums of Rennlist. I agree with Roger and we NEED the help of both for 928 enthusiasts or we can go elsewhere other than Rennlist for help with our 928s.

I like what Roger has to say the 928 community is one of the best.
For the record here are my thoughts.
I think its time for this electronically induced hysteria ship to be turned around.
Being an American means having the ability to express your view no matter what it is .
So many today walk around, watching their back worried about being labeled a something or other.
After this happens then our ability to look in front of us gets distracted and the idea of free thought goes away.
Once this occurs Common sense and human dignity also pack up their bags and head on out.
I think its time to Cancel this cancel culture,
Silence our fake news media,
Get a pair and hold on to them,
Get off your knee and stand up for America and all she stands for.
Be proud of our forefathers who fought to give us this freedom.
The balance of our humanity is swinging precariously in the wind .
We need to anchor it to firm stable ground.
And bring back the ability to use our common sense without fear.

I support Roger in this regards. YOU CANNOT BAN SOMEONE who contributes so much to the 928 community. It's wrong period. People have a right to their opinion and should not be censored due to beliefs that chide with your own. We are adults - and sometimes you need to set aside your differences for the greater good of the community. Banning someone because of personal differences is childish at best, and down right draconian at the worst. The 928 forum has always monitored it self - and their are "stewards" who generally keep the forum moving in the right direction. YOU SHOULD NOT BAN PEOPLE WHO ARE WELL RESPECTED IN THE 928 Forum. Whoever is responsible for banning members of our community - who are MAJOR CONTRIBUTORS - you need to come to our forum and explain yourself.

I agree with Roger
Yep. This forum definitely makes 928 ownership a mostly painless experience. I would not have attempted to own one this many years without this group.

I am in total support of Roger. Explain yourself and the reasons. We enjoy these technical forums more than you know. If you ban the technical experts then you show total lack of support for our cars and knowledge of these cars.

I'm also with Roger. If this is the way it's going to be, I'll rethink my membership. Rennlist has been a valuable resource due to contributors these. Take that away, and there's no reason to belong.
If someone frequents OT, then they better have their big boy pants on, either way they lean. Can't take it? Then stay in the "softer" areas. I do not agree with the way this was handled.

Three Wheelin'
Having come to know Sean over many years now, while he may at times come across such that some are "hurt" by his sarcastic humor, (not me) I have never seen it done out of vengeance or what not. Banning him and the knowledge he brings is like throwing the baby out with the bathwater. OFF TOPIC is just that OFF TOPIC section.

I agree.
The OT, more specifically the PC, is the only place I feel comfortable talking politics, because the folks that frequent that forum seem like good folks and value discussion.
I don't know what happened last week that got everyone banned, or made everyone leave, but it's a paid feature, so it should be tolerated and if you don't like like it, don't go there.
Free Sean & Worf!
Hopefully someone is making t-shirts.

While Roger and Sean have EXTREME right wing political philosophies that many will disagree with (including myself)... They are entitled to those opinions.
Free speech is only a right afforded to us by the government... Not by websites and private companies. The idea that private businesses cannot censor discussion or activity they disagree with is ridiculous... And also quite different than a brick and mortar denying service to folks that are a protected class.
Is a Porsche forum the most appropriate place for those opinions? Probably not.
Do forum moderators want to deal with any potential issues if discussions on their platform lead to what could be interpreted as hate speech or racism or bigotry (not at all accusing Sean and Roger of doing that)? Absolutely not.
Keep the discussions on this forum focused on the topic the site is intended for. There's plenty of other platforms to say whatever anyone wants.
Even if you disagree with their personal philosophies or worldviews, we cannot deny that they are vital members of the Porsche 928 community. Roger provides parts that are otherwise impossible to source at an affordable price, and Sean essentially provides free tech support for the entire community, with knowledge and experience that's nearly impossible for most of us to gather in our lifetime... Plus he's genuinely a good tech and excellent at diagnosing issues. They've saved me more than a few times, being local to me in the Dallas area.
Sean should be allowed to keep contributing to the forums, and it's probably best if he keeps his political leanings to himself... At least while he's on rennlist.com. I'd say this holds true regardless of someone's personal political opinions.

I don't think IB has the ability to evaluate merit of individual posters.
Their moderators seem to not be bound or integrated to specific IB properties, but cruise all their forums to enforce whatever today's rules are. For any particular forum, or subforum, they wouldn't know who are the people who contribute value.
There also seems to be a policy of no communication e.g. notification that and why your post was deleted. Much less on bans.
